We booked the 3 in 1 tour of mountain bikes, caves and kayaking while staying in Kuching. Our booking request was replied to almost immediately and we were accommodated for the very next day! At the time of booking the rain was falling and we were warned that the kayaking may not go ahead. This is the part we really wanted to do.
On the day of the tour we were picked up at our accommodation and joined 2 other people and our guide, Francis. We were transported in a seriously new and comfortable 4wd to Bau where the MTB part started. Kitted out with helmets and 18 speed bikes we headed off to the Wind caves and then an abandoned gold mine. The riding was slippery but not impossible although there was one water crossing where we got very wet shoes and legs! Great fun with loads of concentration needed.
Along the ride we stopped for a drink before tackling some hills and more muddy crossings. I should say that we are both 50 something, mostly unfit peeps but we coped just fine. I walked some parts but rode when I could. At the end of the ride we indulged in a very satisfying lunch and found out that the kayaking part of our trip was cancelled for our own safety. Disappointing but understandable. A refund was promised and has been honoured promptly.
Despite our cancellation we had a BLAST on the ride and can thoroughly recommend it. Not for the faint hearted but also not exclusively for the experienced rider. Four hours that flew past as we bungled through the jungle.

Dear soloavo, TQ for enjoying our mountain biking tour. Francis is very happy that you had a good time and hopefully you can come back to do the kayaking with us next time. All the best with the rest of your traveling in Borneo!

We had a great morning cycling around the interesting hidden, sights of Kuching, with Estee, from ParaDesa Borneo. We shouldn't have had breakfast as we stopped at several different eating places, sampling some of the irresistible local delights. Estee saftely navigated us around all the sites on the bikes, stopping to explain the local history, crossing over the river on a sampan & returning over the Darul Hana Bridge. We highly recommend this trip & it was a great way to finish our 4 day stay here in Kuching.

I did the Borneo Kayak day trip. It was as usual, really well organised. I used them 4 years ago with my younger son after his PSLE. This year, my son asked to visit Kuching again after his O levels. He insisted that mom goes with us to do the kayaking trip. David, Mc Queen and Norman are really great tour guides. I especially like it when David sang us a song which he composed to express his gratitude to his company for keeping him employed during the difficult times when Covid-19 hit. Loving the experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to do some outdoor activities at Kuching.

Dear M2838QMjamesw, Thank you for remembering us after 4 years and it is great that your whole family come and join this time round. Yes, it was a challenge through covid for the tourism industry in Sarawak. Thank you for providing your moral support.

My boyfriend and I booked to go on a sunset bike tour with Delilah as we had limited time in Kuching and were keen to make the most of it. This bike tour did not let us down and we had a great time cycling through all of the Kampongs and seeing the sites around the city. Delilah was a brilliant guide and so knowledgeable about the history and culture. We particularly enjoyed the refreshing coconut water and the dinner afterwards where we got to sample local dishes. Would definitely recommend to those visiting Kuching!

We had an insightful walk around Kuching, taking in the sites and trying the local food. Kevin was an excellent and accommodating guide for the morning tour. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get to know Kuching who has at least 4 hours of time. Be prepared for hot and humid weather so bring a hat and use sunscreen.

Interesting stories and knowledge by our guide. But food and drink not as advertised. Tour says. Try popular authentic Sarawak local street snacks, the best street snacks in Borneo, reflecting its multi-cultural background, boasting Iban, Malay, Chinese, and Indian flavors in its street food. you’re generously supplied with sweet and savory treats as you learn about traditional Borneo snacks by stopping at famed food spots only known to the locals. drop into a local favorite bar to sample a range of tribal rice wines, tuak, and local nibbles. We had one Street snack, one cake shop, dinner at local restaurant (not a bar) for tuak, not a range of tuak and meal. Felt it could have been more food oriented as advertised.

Dear Mr. Jimmy K, Thank you for joining our Sampan, Sunset and Tuak Walking Tour. Yes, apart from enjoying the river sunset on a sampan, one of the highlights of this Heritage Walking Tour is the street snacks of Kuching, as well as the famous Sarawak Tuak ricewine. We appreciate and take note of your comment on lack of range of tuak and street snacks on the day of your tour. We will review your tour description and ensure that it accurately represents the food and drink options that will be available on the tour. Unfortunately, we are also at the mercy of what is available on the street on that particular day. After Covid, we have found the choices of street snacks along our walking route has been reduced. In addition, the bar which we frequent that offer a good range of tuaks, has since been closed down during the pandemic. We will review this tour again to improve our offering to offer more authentic Sarawak street snacks and a wider variety of tribal rice wines and local nibbles, as promised in the tour description. Indeed, there is a bar now that is offering more tuak choices that we are now considering. Thank you once again for your concerns, and we apologize for any shortcomings. We hope to offer a solution to make things right. Regards, JC Chua

We did both the Orangutan Sanctuary and wetlands tour. The pick up times stated on confirmations were both incorrect according to the drivers who would say they are early but actually well over 30mins “late” to the confirmed emails. On the wetlands tour we were told 9am pick up but we were “forgotten” and unable to attend in the morning as we had hoped to do. We were able to reschedule for the afternoon but and given an actual time to be collected and would be returned to our hotel by 7pm. The driver then tells us once we arrive it will be more like 8:30/9pm and no chance it would ever be 7pm on this tour. We then we’re told no ‘captain’ was at the pickup so had to wait in a blistering heat, no toilets on site and no one seemed to know what was happening or if it would happen. 45mins later a captain arrived and I’m pleased to say the tour itself was great, just a real shame about the rest of the “organising”.

Dear ceirac2023, We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced during your recent visits to the Orangutan Sanctuary and Wetlands Tour. We understand how crucial it is for our customers to have accurate and reliable information, especially when it comes to pick-up times and tour schedules. Upon reviewing your feedback, we have identified that there was indeed a discrepancy between the timing stated on our website and the confirmation email you received for the orangutan tour. We deeply regret that this oversight led to frustration and disappointment on your part. Please rest assured that we have taken immediate action to rectify this issue. We have now updated our email auto-response to reflect the correct timings (2pm), and we have implemented measures to ensure that such discrepancies do not happen again in the future. Regarding the delays in the pick-up times and the lack of communication during the wetlands tour, we understand how this could have been a source of inconvenience for you. We strive to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for all our customers, and we acknowledge that we fell short in meeting your expectations in this instance. It was our mistake to have missed your morning booking, but we have upgraded your tour to the evening cruise at not extra cost. During peak seasons, the demand for our services increases significantly, and as a result, our resources may become stretched at times. Your last-minute booking, although greatly appreciated, might not have allowed us to fully coordinate all the arrangements as seamlessly as we would have liked. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any oversights that occurred during this period. However, we are pleased to hear that the tour itself was enjoyable once it commenced, despite the initial challenges. However, we recognize that the overall experience was marred by the issues surrounding the pick-up and organization. Your feedback is invaluable to us, as it allows us to improve our services and ensure that such incidents do not recur. We appreciate your understanding and patience during the waiting period, and we sincerely apologize for any discomfort you experienced due to the heat and lack of facilities. Once again, we apologize for the inconveniences you faced during your visits. We hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you in the future, and we assure you that your next experience with us will be much smoother and more enjoyable. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and if you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Sincerely, JC Chua Director Paradesa Borneo info@paradesaborneo.com

We were hosted for 2 nights in a traditional Iban longhouse in Batang Ai. This was a great way to experience the real life of this community and recommended only to people who are looking for this kind of experience. Not a hotel or resort. The hosting family were great! we spent time with them; they cooked traditional food for us and told us about their lives and customs. We also did a hike in the forest, visited a cemetery and did a picnic—bbq on the river. Before getting to the longhouse, we stopped at an orangutan shelter and a couple of local farmers’ markets, also very cool. Overall great experience but for people who are ready to experience camping-like activities and conditions for a couple of days. It’s the best way to immerse yourself in this culture. Special thanks to Ken for being a wonderful and fun guide :)

We booked one day Semonggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Fairy and Wind Caves tour. The guide Danny Lim was punctual, informative and very helpful. We have a great time with him. The tour agency is also very prompt to reply to my emails and what's app messages. Price is reasonable too. Will book with them again if we come to Kuching again.

This is the kind of trip we love when we are in a new city. You get to see lots without having to walk in the heat and get a taste of the local food.
My husband and I were very lucky. There were only two of us for the trip, it stayed dry and we were lucky enough to have Farah as our guide. She is a lovely ambassador for her country. She is friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and has perfect English.
The bikes, helmets and safety briefing were to a high standard. Very little of the trip was on busy roads but with excellent directions and staying close behind we felt very safe. The motorists are also very considerate.
We were taken to parts of Kuching we had missed entirely when exploring indepently the previous day. My favourite part was cycling through the villages where all the locals were delighted to say hello, welcome to our village.
I also loved the outdoor food market where we saw and tasted some amazing things. Apparently at weekends it is even bigger. Having visited similar markets all over the world we couldn't believe how clean and tidy this one was.
We also loved our breakfast and other tasty bits but I will let you enjoy the surprises on your own trip.
I would highly recomend booking this trip, ideally as early on in your stay as possible to get a lay of the land and a taste of the local food. They stop taking booking 24 hours ahead, so book in plenty of time or you may miss out if your stay is short.

Dear Susiq1957, Thank you and your husband in join this local discovery cycling trip and for sending us this very detailed breakdown of our Kampong cycling tour. Farhah is thrilled that both of you enjoyed her tour. Thank you for sharing so many color photos of the tour, esp in the markets. Interesting observation on our markets :). Thank you!
