This temple in Miri town is located exactly next to the fish market and about a five-minute walk from the central market. It is a very colourful temple and when we were there, many worshippers were seen with large baskets of prayer paraphernalia and preparing...More

Tua Pek Kong is a beautiful, old Chinese/Taoist temple close to the Waterfront in Kuching that always seems to be busy. The Chinese community have played a significant role in Kuching`s/Sarawak`s history and continue to be prominent today. I recommend a visit to the temple...More

This is a very old, ornately decorated Chinese temple. Sitting on a foothill and has spectacular view of the waterfront and part of the city. It occupies quite a spacious area up there. At the back of the temple the visitors can buy joss sticks...More

rather small but has ornate ceramic carvings especially on the roof. A typical Taoist temple and a quick visit will suffice. Easily accessible from waterfront.

It might be small but it’s one of the most worth visit places in Kuching city after you’ve heard about the history of it. Situated in the heart of the city, it’s a well-preserved temple. Believed to be the oldest temple started in the 1800s.

We were there just at the en of the new year celebration. Interesting to watch all the observances including burning "money" in large fireplaces.

Right across the street from my hostel. Interesting, but not a must see. It is very central to the main tourist area.

It is a nice archticture, but it is small inside. There are some impressive objects inside. On the riverbank there are some three or four taoist temples. They create a nice atmosphere of the Chinatown of Kuching.
