Persevere with your search for this museum if you want to see it. The displays are reasonably good, but I was a bit disturbed to find huge standalone air conditioning units going full tilt in every room, and every door wide open to the heat....More

This little gem is both an oasis of calm and a most interesting insight into the Islamic religion and culture. It is on my must-see list every time I am in Kuching. Located behind the newer Sarawak Museum building, entry is free and I thoroughly...More

I was looking forward to seeing all the positive achievement of Islam and Muslims brought to the world. Instead, it's mostly propaganda about how the Islamic achievements are better than everyone else. The descriptions are well written and mostly likely by someone who's never been...More

Not that much to see and could do with a bit more interpretation but still worth a look as you wander around the city.

When I visited (June 2013) the only facilities operating were the shop and the tea-rooms. The display areas were blocked off for preparation of a new exhibition

Tucked away behind the Sarawak Museum this place is well worth a visit. The building is delightfully cool and the exhibits well laid out and labelled. It gives an insight into the history of Islam around Kuching.
