We took the Tringgus trail today, lots of nature and culture nicely alternated. Bikepianopete actually said it all in his review. James indeed is a very knowledgeable and entertaining man and we really recommend going a trip with him, you won't be sorry! He knows a lot of locals and they seem to genuinely like him, for us contributing to... More

We did the Tringus trail day trip. James is a very well informed, educated and extremely knowledgeable English man who has lived in Borneo for some years. He has designed these tours to be something a little different from the mainstream , taking in some things you might not otherwise see. He gives a running commentary as you go along... More

My family of 4, including two girls, ages 10 and 7, recently joined James on his Tringgus Trail expedition. It was very much like stepping into an educational National Geographic documentary and experiencing it in real life! It was that interesting and informative. The very well planned and perfectly balanced tour offered us a glimpse into the Bidayuh village life... More

You hike and swim in the dark basically its adrenaline rush and very tiring ! However its worth it because the caves are beautiful and u get to see different type of bats, scorpions, birds and reconnect to the nature ! Highly recommend to do this for once in a lifetime!

A few friends and I did the Tringgus trail. This was hands down the best thing we did during our week in Kuching. James is incredibly knowledgeable and adds quite the personal touch. Adventure, history and culture... Simply the best! If you have only one day - this should be it!

Not your average day tour and James is definitely not your average guide. He is so knowledgable about the area and definitely knows some great locals. Next time, I'm going on the food tour with James. Highly recommend the Tringus Trail to anyone who wants a day that involves food, a bit of history & culture and a trek to... More

Booked the Tringgus Trail Tour with James and I gotta say it was definitely one of the best experiences in my life. From the trip to the market, the birds nest trader, the jungle trekking (where we crossed to the Indonesian border!), the super delicious lunch cooked by the lovely Emma (a local Bidayuh), the fairy cave and all the... We booked the Tringgus tour with James on January 2016, which comprises of a day trip to a local produce market (pasar tani), a short hike to the Indonesian border and back, lunch with a local family, and a trip to the Fairy cave and an abandon gold mine. In this tour, you'll learn a lot of insider knowledge about... More

As I told James at the end of our trip - the Tringgus Trail and Night Walk put together should be described as "how to make the most out of one day". James truly is an insider in Sarawak and takes you to places tour operators wouldn't. It's amazing how much one can experience in 14 hours - local produce... More

My mom and I had a great day out with James one Saturday in January 2016. We checked out so many places we wouldn't otherwise have access to. Being from Peninsular Malaysia, not everything was foreign to us. And yet we discovered so much more in our own part of the world ... the red/ orange fleshed durian and interesting... More
