Photo stop while on shore excursion. This unusual building dates to 1976 and opened to the public a year later. I had to undertake some research in order to appreciate the construction method. The building has a central core with steel brackets supporting each floor, glass facade with 72-sided polygon shape and a revolving floor on the 18th level that completes a 360-degree rotation each hour. 30 storeys in height, it is one of only four 'hanging structures' in the world to this design. It was originally named Sabah Foundation Building but was renamed in 2001 in honour of Datu Mustapha bin Datu Harun, first Governor and third Chief Minister of Sabah State.

When it was completed in 1977 it was only one of 3 buildings of this concept. Standing about 120 mts tall, it is the third tallest buliding in Borneo. Ther eis a revolving viewing platform inside

Unique and interesting architectural that becomes the iconic building in Sabah. Aside from able to visit the building, visitors may also get to visit the souvenir and retail shop, Galleria Artisan, which located at the ground floor of Menara Tun Mustapha. Galleria Artisan is one stop centre for selling and promoting local Sabah handicrafts and batik.

This building attracts with its unusual architecture, shaped like a huge cylinder. The 30-story glass tower is 122 meters high, was built in 1976 by a Japanese construction company, and was originally named Yayasan. In 2001, the tower was renamed after Tun Datu Mustapha, the former Chief Minister of Sabah. Currently, the building is an administrative building and houses the Sabah State Foundation, which promotes local educational and economic programs. On the 18th floor of the building there is a platform that slowly rotates, making a full revolution in an hour. It offers panoramic views of the city.

Nothing much to explore here, just a unique tall building. locals call this building a 'battery building' cause its shape looks like a 'double/tripe A battery'. It is perfect for people who adore nice background for photography.
