Nice beach, very popular among tourists. The water is emerald crystal clear. Perfect for snorkeling. But the foods sold in the island are very expensive. So, bring your own foods

Nothing special here. There was so much trash on the shoreline and in the waters (diapers, styrofoam packs, etc.), and there were areas where the waters stung (from what, I don't know). The place is filled with undisciplined tourists that don't know where to throw...More

We had a few hours on Manukan Island while on a tour and were provided with masks and snorkels. There's a dedicated snorkelling section, but it isn't very clear how far it goes. One of our party went all the way round the rocks and...More

Manukan Island is beautiful, and despite my comments I’m happy to visit it at least once or twice a month. Yet I feel a few things could be improved: 1) Build a proper jetty where multiple boats can dock simultaneously. With the current structure all...More

The hillside villas may be lovely but they are on the far side above the private beach with many steps to climb. They also have a £50 supplement. There is nothing wrong with the beachside villas, if you can have 8b you'll... More

You are the most unfortunate traveller. I have read your other posts and you reguarly seem to get into situations that are not to your satisfaction. Did you arrange this holiday yourself or did you do it through a travel agent? Some comments on your post. Nexus is out of town and a read of reviews on this forum would have alerted you to that. Drinks at resorts in Sabah are expensive compared to off resort. Again this has been a regular topic of discusiion on this forum for several resorts...More

Helo there! Chinese shop normally will be closed till 4th day of Chinese New Year.If they happen to be open, they normally sell food and drinks at higher price. If you are into dim sum, then you can check out Silk Garden in Pacific Sutera. Hotels prices are the same throughout the year.

4 days 3 nights beach in KK (1 Replies)
Hello! Advise needed. We are a couple from northern europe who will leave both our two small kids behind with family to enjoy a quiet 4 days 3 nights in KK in july 2017 as first time visitors. All we wish for is a sandy white beach, shining sun and crystal clear water. I have done a bit of research and here's my plan: Day 1: Arrive in KK, stay in a 3 star hotel nearest to jesselton point harbour Day 2: Take the earliest boat out to Manukan island for sunbathing and relaxing by the beach ...More

Hana S, It is nice to see you have started your planning. The visit out to the Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park is a ten minute boat ride from Jesselton Point. I would suggest that you try a different Island for each visit. Also have a look at the "Coral Flyer" a zip wire between Palau Gaya and Palau Sapi. You do not need to buy a lunch meal as part of your boat excursion, as there are "beach shack" type restaurant on the islands it is quicker and cheaper to buy your own meal when you want...More
