- RoohiDubai, United Arab Emirates3 contributionsFun visitWe visited the museum on our first day in Penang. The lovely chinese lady gave instructions and we paid for tickets and went it. We were amazingly surprised by the setup and the friendly staff accompanying us in every room and obliging for the pictures. The place was crowded due to being a weekend. However we loved visiting every room and taking our pictures. Finally we ended the tour with snacks, souvenirs and pleasant fun memories. Must do place!Visited December 2022Written January 17, 2023
- Debbie O7 contributionsGreat Fun!A very fun place to spend an hour. The staff were friendly and posed us while taking some very funny photos. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and our adult children said we looked like kids having fun when they saw the photos.Visited March 2023Written March 17, 2023
- Stanley_Wong1204Petaling Jaya, Malaysia354 contributionsGood help from museum assistants to take photoGood help from the museum assistants to take photo for each of the location. They know how to get the right angle to capture the photo. The only thing is that if there are many tourists, then the time spent at each photo location will be shorter as those tourists will come in batch by batch. Strongly to suggest to visit the museum as early as 9.30am when the museum just opens for business. That time we can have longer time to take photo at each location inside the museum.Visited March 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 30, 2023
- wildeasternLondon, United Kingdom199 contributionsOnce is enoughNice exhibits but one can tell where some are really old and need a face-lift like the snooker table room...looks run down. Like everything else things do get worn out but they need refreshing or new leash of life. Avoid weekends can imagine the number of people jammed in as everyone desperately tries to have their posed pictures taken. Then there are those time wasters who have decided to linger on longer than is allowed just to take more pictures hence causing the backlog. As a visitor this one visit is enough ..not keen to join the crowd in a small contained environment.Visited July 2023Traveled with friendsWritten July 29, 2023
- AminsyamsLangkawi, Malaysia1 contributionAll is wellI have best experience visiting this museum since all the staff are really friendly. They’re all can teach you how to pose and help you to take picture as well. So, if you’re solo traveller, that’s not gonna be a problem. Please enjoy 😉 but I only have short of time since lot of people waiting to take picture. 😜Visited August 2023Traveled soloWritten September 12, 2023

It's got a nice concept and set with fun-filled, colourful, whimsical, delightful & playful. We were the only group there.
They had assistants who will help you to pose and take pictures/videos for you. The illusion is when you flip the photos upside down to make it looks like you're the wrong way up.
There is no free time for you to have a tour or have a look, the only thing you can do is doing weird postures.
It will be nice if the hygiene for the place can be improved, they didn't allow people to wear shoes inside and it's understandable, but the place is still dirty and smelly despite that.
Entrance fee for local is slightly expensive, not really worthy. If you are a photoholic, may be you like this place, otherwise you can enjoy the street art, it's pretty than this and is free for everyone.

The place is small but nice. I just think that they need a better location, somewhere more accessible. Tip to have good photos; ask assistance. They would tell you how to properly pose per spot. 450 pesos entrance fee is not bad considering that there is no time limit.

Although the sets are nice we didn't quite enjoyed the experience. We had to keep moving, had no time to actually watch the nice sets, they asked us for the camera and told us where to stand and how. We didn't feel free to actually enjoy and experience.

A must visit place if you are in Penang, guys ! My friends and I had a great experience in the museum since all the things were upside down. Service provided here was awesome and the staffs were really friendly. They taught us how to give a pose and also took pictures for us. Reasonable entrance fee and definitely it will be a wonderful experience if you go with friends ...

It was really just a photo op place. Cool photos but otherwise nothing interesting to see. They also really just push you through and take photo after photo. Better to take photos on the street with the street art.

We thought our three year old son would enjoy this so we decided to check it out. While I htink the adults enjoyed it more than the kid! The staff was very friendly and efficient and did a great job taking photos. you do move through quickly but we had a lot of laughs and would recommend it!

I visited yesterday(10-Feb-2019, 12PM)
The staff dropped my phone in the process of taking pictures with my phone. (My phone is an iPhone 8+ and I do not wear a case, but I have a protective film on it.) After he said he was sorry, he continued taking pictures and I continued the museum schedule.
After he lightly apologized and photographed, I thought that only the protective cover would be broken. But later, when I remove the cover, my phone screen was broken.!!!
In your system, Staffs can inadvertently drop guest’s phone. Is there a way to get rewarded?

I suggest that you inform the museum‘s management as soon as possible. Just hope that their insurance covers such mishaps. On the other hand, it is advisable to put a protective casing around your iPhone in order to avoid such mishaps in future. Wishing you the best of luck!

I doubt it. This is Malaysia but no harm asking. In fact it would be noble for Upside Down Museum to compensate you.

Hi I am doing a short stopover of about 5 hours in Penang due to the cruise itinerary. I’m wondering how long should I set aside for the upside down museum? Thank you

2 hours would be good. After the 3d museum and the upside down and there are the narrow streets. Also theres the street arts. Tyou wouldn't feel the town unless you walk through them.

Most day tours do not include this. But the museum is conveniently located in town by taxi or public bus, and takes about 30 mins (max 45) to go through it. perhaps you can go by yourself.
How much is the ticket and what's the working hours ?

The museum is open from 9am to 6pm and the admission fees for adult is RM27 for non Malaysian and RM16 for Malaysian. Children (age 5 to 12) - RM16 for non Malaysian and RM8 for Malaysian.
Would advise to visit as early as possible because they only allowed a number of people inside the museum at one time.
