I decided to take my 72-yo mum and 7-yo son to one of Penang's oldest attraction and found quite a lot has changed. Firstly, I am so glad that they had Fast Lane option for those who doesnt want to queue for the normal tickets (it can be pretty long). I paid RM80 for two adults, one senior citizen and... More

It was a hot day but when we got to the top it was 10C cooler. Very pleasant. We had a lovely lunch in the David Brown restaurant at the top. Other than that a bit too touristy unfortunately.

It was very busy and we had to queue for about 30 minutes to catch the train however it was great fun and also good value. The views from the hilltop are impressive! Plenty of places to eat and drink as well.

The ride to the top of Penang Hill with a train is worth the wait at the ticket counter and then to get onboard. To cut the time, suggest buy fastlane tickets which costs 2x the amount of normal ticket lane. But the extra cost is worth. The train runs at about 45-60 degrees slope to cover ~2km of run... More

Go at night, 9pm onwards, no line. There will be less tourist. Good place to see all over Penang from an aerial view. Recommended to buy 2-way train up/down return ticket RM30/ adult. Otherwise RM15 one-way per adult.

The day we went it was super busy. We paid extra for the fast lane to avoid 1-2 hour line ups to go on the train. Only bad part is they pack too many people into the carriages so you do not enjoy the ride up as much. Once you are up there it is lovely - In hindsight I... More

Walking the Penang hill is no joke. Be ready to sweat and deal with the incline. Leave the monkeys alone or they will snatch anything on your persons. Fun and amazing view when you get to the top. Kinda funny and depressing knowing you could have taken the 5 minute tram ride but if excercise is want you want then... More
