Lovely peaceful place. We opted to take the open golf buggy tour as time was tight. As per title - lots of wild monkeys here my daughter loved feeding them (not allowed but the staff turn a blind eye to kids doing it if they are quick) Apparently you can take a trail from here to the top of Penang... Nice to relax and play with children.should bring mosquito repellant. Monkeys are all over but be careful with your food as momoeys grab it.

The most important tourism attraction in Penang was the hop on hop off bus. There are two itineraries, one the city tour and the other the beachside tour. It was our last day when we found out about it, so we chose the city and it took us to the Botanical Gdns. We would have spent hours here if we... More

Magnificent gardens with a huge array of plants and trees, manicured beautifully. Ride through the area by carriage. Also lots of bush walkers use this park. For added interest are the monkey families that inhabit this area. You can feed then and from our experience they were better behaved than in places like Bali.

Well worth a visit to see the wildlife in the gardens! We also met some wise Chinese ladies who told us about the poisonous animals!

Definitely worth a wander through these beautifully maintained gardens. We went early and it was lovely watching the locals do their morning exercise.

You can book tours you pay for, but this is not necessary. If you are feeling lazy, you can buy tickets for the open sided electric bus to take you round. You will encounter monkeys. These monkeys see lots of tourists and simply don't give one. Don't mess with the monkeys. You will lose. There are cafes here. It is... More

Easily reached off the Hop on/Hop Off tourist bus the gardens offer something for everyone. For the energetic there is the heritage trail and for those who prefer a more leisurely stroll there are gentle paths to take you through formal gardens and tropical rain forest. There is plenty of local wildlife to see. Feeding bananas to the monkeys that... More

It's not huge and you probably can walk around the entire park in less than 30 minutes but it's definitely one of my favorite places in Penang. Great place for a walk/jog. Just beware of the monkeys! My mom's a fan of plants/orchids so we often go there for the annual flower festival:D My other favorite memories include us sibs... More

If you're sporty and outdoorsy, this is a great place to visit. The gardens are beautiful and varied, and there are numerous trails available to take you hiking into the hills. A lovely contrast to the density of old traditional Georgetown.
