it is definitely a place of serenity, but the maintenance issues are everywhere just like the rest of the island. We loved the monkeys that were climbing all over the cannonball tree and were looking for food, it was a highlife for us. The pod...More

We have visited many times in the mornings and always nice but so busy - after 9am it is lovely and quiet so relaxing. Just taxing enough inclines to start your exercise day!

George town getting you down? Then head to the Botanical gardens for a more peaceful and green few hours. The garden themselves are below par and not well kept, but there are some nice trees and with some wiki skills you can learn a few...More

Obviously a shortage of funds and will power to keep this to the standard that it could be. Still a pleasant place to walk around quite secluded and quiet. Main problem is all the greenhouses that are supposed to contain special displays are all closed...More

We knew that the number 10 bus to the gardens was infrequent, but a local guy at the bus exchange laughingly said “You’ve got a long wait! One bus every 40 minutes.” He chatted with us and showed some historic photos of George Town until...More

We were a bit disappointed to see no monkeys but it was around midday. Fair enough I guess. It's too hot for them to come out to be posing for us. Mornings and evenings are the best time because they come out to eat. We...More

The gardens are lovely. Serene, peaceful, green. We went on a sunny afternoon in late-June and almost had the park to ourselves. The map looks like there is a waterfall in the park but was unable to find it. Long-tailed macaques are everywhere which is...More

I highly recommend this place for you who want to run/jogging/hiking or get some fresh air. The location is big enough, many kind of trees.

We came out on a Sunday morning to have a walk, see the waterfall and a temple. It’s really now just a nice park, as the botanical garden structures are fairly degraded. It was just a nice place to walk. You can’t take food or...More

This is a lush garden of many parts. Beautiful trees and plenty of wildlife. Monkeys stroll round the lawn as you enter and others are in the trees. Lizards, beetles, plenty to see but nothing threatening. Staff are very friendly.
