Penang's history is fascinating and complex and Islam is an important component of that history. So, in that vein, it is an interesting place to visit. The mosque itself is nice enough and the people are very friendly. Its not out of the way on...More

This us an impressive old mosque situated in the heart of old Georgetown. It has typical Moorish style architecture with domes and minarets. Seemed to be closed when visited due to prayer time or because it was Ramadan.

As muslims, we appreciated the opportunity to pray juma in this old mosque. The building itself is worth seeing, with significant history.

The mosque is open to visitors each day 11.30 to 13.00 except Friday and again on weekend afternoons. Best to dress appropriately if you want to be shown round (long sleeves, legs covered) etc. An interesting insight into Muslim faith

It is a beautiful white mosque that is easy to find as I walked in George Town. Unfortunately, I didn't go inside, but I took some lovely pictures during different times I passed by.

I haven't taken the tour, but it's a beautiful mosque. If you walk by just after sunset you won't be able to resist taking a photo or two.

Huge dome for the size of the building. Traditional and heritage with ablution wells. Very inspirational. Peaceful and quiet place.
