Amazing experience from the top. And i found out that i was actually gayat 😅

When i went there, it’s just open for public (after PKP).

They only open for observatory deck ( level 65). And we was lucky, that day just only open for skywalk level (level 68).

So, nothing much to explore.

A must visit , well worth your money to go there. Opens at night also and pretty decent views from top, good crowd control.

The Skywalk is very small. The entrance fee of 118 MYR for foreigners is too high. The staff always tries to sell expensive paper photos. The view may be nice, but every Asian Skybar offers such a view for free. Really not worth to visit.

Everyone talks about the amazing view at The TOP and the entertainment offered ,but no one talks about the customer service there.atleast the staff can try to make it fun??there's no slight briefing of anything about the place (safety briefing maybe?) or a small talk, seriously dissapointed with malaysian workers, foreign workers are trying to take it in,taking photos and try to make it fun.but other staff just lead us in & out the elevator and stood silence.from start to finish.NO one talks about the development and idea of the place or history.not even a smile.are they robots? just plain boredom, would go to try the restaurant, but never again for the lack of customer service and hospitality.the only helpful staff is the frontline counter at level 1.the top counter, the staff just ask for left hand and apply the wristband.

This is a great area to view most of Penang Island and some of the mainland. We thought the RM64 was very reasonable to view the observatory deck and the skywalk. We had fun here and would likely go back. In one of the photos I am sitting on the glass floor of the Observatory Deck. I may, or may not, have had to crawl / bum shuffle out in order to get this photo (and my husband may or may not have taken a video of me doing this!)

the photographer cheated on us!
we paid rm 95 for 3 printed photos that turned out not really nice. before printed, we viewed the files, i sensed something missed hence it should have more poses. he softly spoken we can get all the files free by downloading mysnapps application. we thought he was really nice..no..big mistakes!!! as we went down to 6th floor, before exit gate, to our suprise there is another photo booth with our photos in different poses and more nicer than the guy on 68th gave us. those our nice photos not on ' 'the all files' as the guy on 68th told us and we have to pay again for those our nice pose photos. really bad service and give komtar a bad name!

The Top Observatory Deck is located at an old building called Komtar which stands for Komplex Tun Abdul Razak. The ground floor entrance to the elevators leading to the 65th floor of The Top is somewhat dilipidated and you might be mistaken that there isn't a worthy tourist attraction up there. On the 65th floor, there is a video of the place before opening up to a wide enclosed area with breathtaking views of Penang. It has bottomless glass floors and a great opportunity for taking photos. This is also where the rainbow skywalk is done, outdoors literally at the 65th level. Take the elevator to the 68th floor to the outdoor observation deck for another sweeping view of Penang which also has bottomless floors jutting out beyond the fringe of the building for a great photo opportunity. Entrance for foreigners to The Top are higher than for locals.

It is awesome experience for the first time if you are in Penang. Well, please don't compare with other observatory deck but Komtar management really did excellent job to improve and fully utilize the tallest building in Penang. Price wise, well consider cheaper than other countries and the glass floor is spectacular.

We went to the Komtar on a beautiful day hoping to get a good view of Georgetown. The location of the ticket area has changed since prior to the renovation and is no longer in the base of the Komtar. A short walk from the base of the Komtar can get you to the glamorous entrance with upmarket eateries on the stairs up to the ticket area.

Without having checked online for prices etc, we rocked up to the empty counter to find that the price for admission to the top was MYR118 (USD26). This is so exorbitant for Malaysia. In comparison, the Tokyo Skytree costs USD18 and the bridge of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur costs MYR85. The view of the skyline from the Komtar is nowhere near as spectacular as the view from the above mentioned observation decks. We also found out that the ticket price includes a walk on the glass walkway - there is no option to buy a ticket just for the observation deck without the glass walkway bit.

In the end, we were extremely disappointed at the price of a ticket we decided not to visit. Prior to the renovation, it cost around MYR10 per person to visit the top level of the Komtar and luckily enough I did go up there a few years ago. I would not consider going up for what is an extortionate amount of money for a tourist, let alone a local (although they have slightly discounted rates).

We did not see anyone else there. They'll need to either lower their ticket prices or face bankruptcy.
