About
DARK MANSION, proudly presents itself as the FIRST Glow-In-The-Dark Museum in Malaysia. The Dark Mansion appears to be one of the trendiest modern art museums as it integrates technology with arts, which then makes it a new MUST-VISIT spot in Penang. Taking one step beyond the existing 3D art painting techniques, Dark Mansion presents a new dimension of 3D art by incorporating the amazing glow-in-the-dark effect into the 3D paintings and artworks. The artists applied special painting materials along with special light settings to produce brilliant glowing effect and astonishing “day-to-night” transition. Visitors could enjoy and interact with the 3D painting and artworks in two different lighting effects - daylight and black light. MAIN ATTRACTIONS We promise you an amazing and unforgettable journey in Dark Mansion. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the attractions in Dark Mansion: The biggest attraction in Dark Mansion is the artwork of Edgar Mueller (World’s Top Street Painter from Germany), called the “Fire & Water: Tribute to Darwin”. This artwork is an attempt to break the world record as the World’s First and Largest Anamorphic Glow-In-The-Dark Pavement Painting with Day-to-Night Transition. Make sure that you do not miss the opportunity to capture a photo with this incredible masterpiece. Another main attraction in Dark Mansion is a mysterious glowing tropical forest – “Tropical Pandora: The Forbidden Land”. In Tropical Pandora, you will explore and witness the metamorphosis of plants and paintings into special living creatures during the transitions of daylight and black light. You will take a step into an enchanting and endless space of the “Infinity Room: The Origins of Eywa”. The installation of mirrored-walls in the room creates a fascinating experience of infinite space, populated by hanging and glowing objects (Eywa), which make the space seems like a galaxy or a nebula. We do not stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. Therefore, unleash your creativity and imagination by interacting with our 3D murals at “My Toy Story”. We will bring you into the world of toys from the 80s and 90s, such as the famous Super Mario Bros and the addictive Street Fighter arcade game. Be sure to take funny and creative pictures, as well as to have great fun!

if you need a short but fun trip while walking around the city centre of Georgetown, then do drop by this place. Kids would have fun with their cameras or phone cameras.

Been here with my good secondary school friends. This place is suitable to visit during night as the lights will make the surrounding look very beautiful.

Coming from the Upside Down Museum, we had great expectations of this Dark Museum. We were rather disappointed. Seemed slapped together without much thought. Gimmicky and touristy. I wouldn't waste time here.

Glow in the dark museum are so amazing. I went to this place with my family.
We get a warm welcome once we step in the museum.
First we did introduce by the staff in the museum about the DIY painting section, we really love this activity. We did a hand painting, and the paint glow in the dark.
After that, we proceed to the next section which is a avatar garden, it was really impressive. The staffs are really friendly, they do interact with us to ask us to search for the hidden animal on the painting wall and proud to say that we did to find all of the animals on the painting wall.
The art that I wish to point out is the Edgar Muellar painting. It was really cool, in 1 picture we saw 2 effect. WOW~ it's really cool! How they did it?
We really enjoy this museum so much. It is a must visit museum!

Visited with friends (2 adults with their 9 year old son) . Not sure how it’s possible to spend more than 30 minutes here. Staff are pushy and insist on trying to take photos for you, or take your phone to do it. Ok if you want the same instagram photos as literally everyone else visiting. Overpriced and not very interesting

Travelling solo would have to be the most exciting and challenging kind of travel, exciting in a way that you have all your time to yourself, no rush, and most importantly, you could do and go whatever and wherever you want, but the downside of it is you being alone, which means no photographer. That being said, I have no expectations at all... I will just be there for amusement. Fortunately, Hannah was there to really look after me my entire stay. She took all IG-worthy shots, and even tell me the poses. Hannah, you are amazing, and I couldn't thank you enough. Another cherry on top was Pala who was so witty and funny during his magic tricks. Lastly, Sarah at the reception was like heaven's gift, she knew I was alone, so she recommended few things to do, which I enjoyed and I really did. To the management, please look after your staffs, they are all doing so great with their jobs, so passionate about the things they do, and most importantly, they care at the workplace as if it is theirs. Will defenitely be back again. And by then, I hope it's with my colleagues or someone, if not, I pray that they are still there.

My husband and I decided to pay a visit to the Dark Museum to kill time. Seriously it was an expensive waste of time. Basically a staff member walked us around a blackened out shop area with a few 3D murals painted on the wall and took pictures of us standing in front of them. I seriously thought it was a joke and we were then going in to the actual3D art museum. Don't waste your time going.

I personally logged this account just to write this terrible review. This is a place where paintings and props are used to create photos in 3D form creating false perspectives - except with a twist it's glow in the dark. Problem is most cameras will want to use a flash or give false settings which will disrupt your photo. You will need a staff member to take the photo for you while they hold a special light pointing at you. As such the place is tiny! About x10 photo OP stops - About 20 minutes spent in the whole place and for a whopping 40 ringgit! And to top it off they ask for another 30 at the end for x3 crappy pictures they took of you at the start. Plus the opportunity to buy even worse discount souvenirs. Please spend 40 ringgit perperson anywhere else - the only thing glowing at the end of this experience was my face from shame and anger at being ripped off
