With friends we were able to enjoy a day at Coral Beach and I highly recommend it.

The white sand beach was magnificent, the water was turquoise blue thanks to the good weather we had.

In mid-August over a weekend, the beach was rarely visited (a few French and Malaysian families)
The beach was therefore very quiet and rather friendly suitable for families (swings in the trees)

If you are a little more courageous, you can explore the small, exceptional wild beaches which are to the right of Coral Beach (you have to walk on rocks after the temple, not recommended for young children, there is a bit climbing)

The beach is also perfectly located for sunset while having a drink in one of the restaurants

For a first beach in Malaysia, it won us over enormously

Beach is perfect for families and those, who like water sports. Many activities you can choose and a few part of the beach is peaceful also so you can only lying on your bed at beach and enjoy the weather.
Water is extremely hot, kids can play in the sand, water deeps slowly.

Experience snorkeling and island hopping in Pangkor Island, nice activity. I took a small boat for 2 persons. The guy name Herry's attitude is good, worth me recommend him here, he has 16 years experience in his business. His location just at Coral Beach beside the night market at Teluk Nipah. Beach is located around Teluk Nipah which are lined with over crowded stalls on both sides of the road. Plenty of stalls selling local Malay cuisine and beach accessories. Not an ideal place for relaxing

Not bad but definitely i would not book this hotel next time. It was so crowded and everything looks messy at the first glance but it had a frindly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was like a typical maly an chines breakfast, but the good things about the hotel, It is located next to a big supper market ( bear) and duty free ( dont be happy , only can find chocolate no liquor).

We hated it. 99% of the people were muslim that were staring at us being western. Everyone was swimming fully clothed so we didn't feel we could dress in swimwear. There were nappies on the beach. Stay away

This is one stop center for snorkeling. Package cost around RM80-RM120 per boat. The location and island hoping is provided by the package provider at the beach. One of the key points is to check the snorkeling equipment given to you and test it at the beach before went to the coral island. Since its bit hot, bring water and lotion to avoid sun burn.

The colourfull Coral is bit less, nevertheless, the fish is around here. Bring roti to attract fish around you. Ensure do not bring many valuable items since you need to place the bag around here before snorkeling.

I'm originally from Terengganu and I found the beaches at Pangkor are pretty sad. But Coral beach is probably the best. Less disruption of boats so you can swim more peacefully here compared to Teluk Nipah beach. I guess not many knows how to get there as the beach is somewhat hidden.

Just walk about 400m from Teluk Nipah via the main road until you see Daddy's Cafe. Kayak is not available at the Teluk Nipah due to crazy busy beach but you can find it here, RM15 for 1 hour. You can enjoy some western food at Daddy's cafe too if you're hungry. A bit pricey compared to Teluk Nipah but more proper and yummy.

The best stretch of sands opened to the public on the once idyllic island of Pangkor happens to be the Coral Beach or also known as "White Sand Beach". However it is clearly evident that this stretch of white sand suffers from the effects of over-tourism and poor maintenance. There are just too many guesthouses, beach chalets and hawkers on the stretch. If you thought that you could have some relaxing time, I bet the sounds of the jetskiis and speedboats scouring the waters fronting the beach will prove you wrong. Not to mention some speedboats even dangerously zoom up the beach and potentially could cause injury to passers by. Don't even bother going into the waters to search for corals because there aren't any corals left; you can only see fragments of dead corals lying on the beach. To make things worse, the green waters surrounding Pangkor are very murky and visibility is very poor. The tour operators there heavily promote the small island called Pulau Giam (Coral Island) located just offshore Coral Beach, but I will say its a big con job and don't even bother going there as you will be disappointed big time with only floating rubbish to see instead of colorful corals! It is sad that Pangkor island suffers the effects of not well planned tourism and the over development of the natural beaches there is suffocating and depressing for the nature lover to watch.
