There were a lot of statues and nice layout of grounds. There is a pond with turtles in which is nice and another with fish in. The caves are nice and interesting. Nice place to visitVisited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 5, 2024

A typical temple built into a cave that with elaborate statues and scriptures on the walls. There was another temple next door that was less notable but worth checking out.Visited July 2024Traveled soloWritten August 13, 2024

This Taoist temple is located next door to Nam Thean Tong and Sam Poh Tong just off Jalan Gopeng on the southern outskirts of Ipoh. The name is literally translated as the Rock of Heavenly Spirits and is quite different from its neighbour Nam Thean Tong who shares the same grounds. The main compound of the temple is adorned with many statues of various designs of animals, deities, and other characters from the Chinese folklore. The garden in front is decorated with colorful statues of characters from the Chinese mythology such as the Monkey King from the classic tale Journey to the West.
I would not classify this as a cave temple cos where the prayer hall is built against the mountain the hollow structure is very shallow (unless there is a hidden part which I did not find) and is more like an overhang of the hill Gunung Rapat which looms above the temple. The temple is opened from 9am to 6pm and admission is free.

Many temples in Ipoh are built in caves, and Ling Sen Tong is one of it. The buiding here is basically built based on the Feng Shui. From the information that I get, The cave is one of the temples built on the mountain. There are many gods' statue at here too...

Most of this temple is outside the cave. There is a decent-sized grounds area with several religious buildings, passages between them, and religious art and artifacts. The most interesting of these is a large reclining Buddha on top of the main building. It's not as large as the famous reclining Buddha on Penang, but it's still large enough to be an interesting sight.
The cave itself is relatively small, with just one chamber and a couple of shrine areas. It's worth a glance but not much more time.
Overall, the temple is decent (though the cave aspects are, again, very minor), and it's close to others (such as Sam Poh Tong), so if you're in the area to look at the others this one's worth a look as well. But it isn't worth the trip from downtown Ipoh by itself.

This is a colourful temple with many sculptures from the Chinese Zodiac, Chinese Stories (such as Journey to the West) and Chinese Mythology (such as God of Marriage, Erlang Shen etc).
The sculptures are not really done well but they have vibrant colours and should be interesting for kids.

Attended this temple with family and wasn't impressed, we were told its commercialised for tourists and that's what it was very little authentic.
