- ДмитрийMoscow, Russia12 contributionsPerfect placeGreat beach next to the Hyatt hotel. It’s clean, there is a promenade bridge between the sea and the forest, there are many local food outlets and chain ones - McDonald's, Starbucks, KFC. The sand is white and soft, street musicians play.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 15, 2024
- Peter T79 contributionsTELUK CHEMPEDAK. KUANTAN. MALAYSIA1)Beautiful Beach with Fine powdery sand; and voted as the BEST Beach in KUANTAN. 2)The area is Well developed, Many Big fast food chains (Example: KFC. McDonald...)have their presence here; apart from many local food stalls around the area. 3)A maned and well maintained shower/Toilet also here; with low charges M$1/entry 4)There is a Save Guard on duty, off at late evening (6-7pm?) 5)The beach is free of Major rubbish and accord clean water to swim 6)Good place for the Evening; as it is too HOT During the day.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 19, 2024
- ShahnazTSingapore, Singapore61 contributionsLaze Away the DayBeautiful! This beach literally took my breath away because when I first laid eyes on it, I legit gasped! Granted, I accessed it from the Hyatt property, but the beach and the scenery were all amazing! I spent a whole afternoon just lying on the beach, swimming, and taking in the blue skies and horizon views... The boardwalk for Teluk Cempedak has MANY shops for food and light shopping, and the locals were all very friendly (albeit loud), but if you're in Kuantan, Teluk Cempedak is NOT to be missed!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 16, 2024

It was short trip just to visit this iconic place since I was in Kuantan and lived nearby Telok Cempedak.
The scenery was rather magnificent and truly tantalising for those of you nature lovers just like me. At one glance you could see that the state govt had put effort in maintaining this tourist attraction spot as the sand and beach area was maintained. The waters were greenish blue intuitively teasing you to jump in and take a dip but since I visited during the lunch hour and it was scorching hot I was more worried about my skin rather then the collective experience. LOL
There were an array of fast food outlets to accommodate to one's cravings. They had McD, KFC, Starbucks ,Subway and the list continues.
There were 2 parts to the beach, the first was nearby the food outlets which was common and had a shaded patio for small gatherings. The second part required you to walk alongside the beach on a pavement above the sea level which brings you to a second more protected area from the crowd.
Beware of the Monkeys ! As you enter their terrotary be mindful to not carry food items in plastic bags as they will, will, will snatched it of you. I had my Mcflurry Gula Melaka snatched by a monkey. I initially resisted but was fast to give in just to avoid further issues with the battalion of monkeys already there to feast on the McFlurry.
There were many paths headed toward the area above the pavement but I didn't have time to explore those areas as I was rushing back.
Either ways it was an enciting trip and would love to come back perhaps at night to observe the night life :)

Expansive beach with fast food outlets - Mac Donald’s, Starbucks etc. But Walk along the bridge to a lovely smaller beach with a small rustic cafe with shade, a camping area and swings for the kids. Big beach and big waves, we had to be careful with our younger children as a strong current. The cafe is run by a really friendly couple who made us local snacks and fresh coconut juice. A great visit for all the family

A nice place to seat near the beach and enjoy Starbuck coffee. Kids can enjoy playing sand castle. The breeze of the wind was so strong that children playing kites and bubble balloon. However due to recovery movement control order only 300 visitors at one time at beach area. Also the parking at quite limited at this area.

A nighttime visit to Teluk Chempedak after dining at Restoran Ana Ikan Bakar Petai offered an enchanting escape. The beach's tranquil beauty, with its gentle breeze and serene ambiance, provided a refreshing stroll post-dinner, perfect for relaxation.
However, limited streetlights affected visibility, suggesting a daytime visit to fully appreciate the picturesque scenery and breathtaking views under the sun.
What stood out were the numerous nearby coffee shops, ideal for gatherings, along with popular eateries like McDonald’s, Starbucks, KFC, Subway, and others, offering convenience and diverse dining options catering to various preferences.
Teluk Chempedak is a charming destination, providing a serene respite and a range of dining choices. For the complete experience and to capture the stunning views, a daytime visit is recommended, ensuring a delightful outing for both relaxation and culinary adventures.

Nice public beach. Surprisingly quite clean and well maintained. There are fast food chains like KFC, MacDonald’s as well local restaurants and traditional stalls too. Along the beach side they have push carts selling souvenirs as well. We went during their public holiday and it was jammed packed with people. Can be crowded too in the normal days’ evening when people bring their families from the nearby town after work. The beach is only about 15-20 min drive from town.

Nice beach for couples and families. Very lively with live music, beach facing fast food chains, local eateries and cafes, and has nice walkway overlooking the beach leading to trekking paths into the mini jungle where you'll be greeted with not overly friendly monkeys. Relatively the cleanest beach in the east coast. It's ironic that you can't find a single cempedak goreng at Teluk Cempedak though, which remains the only disappointment about the place for me. 4 out 5 recommended. Unless if you want to find cempedak goreng.

Visited on a Saturday at 1.30pm(was cloudy)
Lots of people at the beachfront area, felt suffocating but at the beach per se, there were less people and lots of small rocks to relax on under the shade.
There is a Mcdonalds, Starbucks and also a KFC here.
Beautiful manmade elevated walkway to Teluk Tongkang(neighbouring beach) but lots of aggressive monkeys along the way(due to people giving it food) made us turn back halfway through the walk.
Beach is clean but didnt see anyone swimming in the sea.

This place gets very very busy and can become positively crowded. The monkeys have got used to having people feed them and can be rather agressive. There is a lot of litter as you'd expect from such a busy beach. There are nicer beaches in the area with much smaller crowds.
Lots of little stands selling assorted tourist tat and a very underwhelming night market at the weekend.
Not worth making a special trip to visit.

A good spot to take the family for a time away from the busy and hectic hustle and bustles of city life. Enjoying nature as well as seaside with clean beaches and lovely waters for children to enjoy the waves. However, it is important to take heed of the hotel's warning signals for safety purpose.

It's a beautiful beach, but spoilt by the irresponsible visitors. Rubbish was everywhere. The buskers were noisy. Should leave the place because we are there to enjoy the sound of the waves, not the drums on one side, and lousy singing on the other side

We will visit KL soon and would like to plan a day trip to TC. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids. What is the best way to get from KL to KC? Is there a regular bus service? How much would the trip cost? Thanks in advance.

Hai Sal M...If your family like backpacking travel, taking the bus to Kuantan would be fun as the journey will take around 3-4 hrs depending on traffic but on weekdays and non-peak season, traffic on the highway is ok. As you reached Kuantan, depending on where you are staying, the hotel can arrange for transportation to Teluk Cempedak. I was told that TC is more lively after the sun sets...There will be more peddlers selling souvenirs and food carts. My suggestion - go there around 5 - 6 pm (the sun will be kinder to the skin) where your kids can spend time at the beach and later have dinner along the sidewalks. Have a great trip ya
