I’m not sure about private transfers, but my partner and I did this on our travels, it’s very easy to travel by coach. We booked from KL to the highlands online on easybook, then got our tickets on to Penang from the bus station in Tanah Rata. Around 30MYR per person for each journey and takes around 4/5 hours if I remember correctly! Hope this helps.
Hie I'll be visiting CH during June for a 3D2n tour. There are 2 adults and our 9 yrs old boy. Need some advise on itinery. We'd like to do the Mount Brinchang & Mossy Forest trip with one of the tour operator. However cold not decide what tour to choose for the 2nd half of the day, to visit Orang Asli or the Country side tour ? We'd like to see the country side on a more relaxed mood. Is it possible to do the Country side tour on our own ? Is the Orang ASli tour a MUST see...More

Which tour company to book?? (7 Replies)
I'm wanting to book a tour for the Cameron Highlands for June 2012. I've looked at 2 company's for a full day tour. Cameron Secrets is 80 RM + lunch and Shajasa for same tour including lunch is 495 RM. It would want to be a VERY good lunch for the price differance. Need some advice if anyone knows why such a price differance. I'm also looking at booking the Batu Caves, Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Firefly Tour with Shajasa. Any other tour company's suggestions would...More

It takes 3-4 hours to get to Cameron Highlands from KL.. If the price is RM80, then I would guess that it excludes the transfer from KL.
Tour agency or hire taxi? (2 Replies)
Dear all, I am travelling to CH for 3d2n and am wondering how should I go about visiting the attractions? I've looked at several tour packages from Kang Tours & Travel, Titiwangsa Tours, Cameron Secrets and CS Travel & Tour and all of them are quite reasonable. However, is it better to hire a taxi for a day to bring me around? If so, how can I hire a taxi? And what are the rates? Thanks!

Taxis are abundantly available in Cameron Highlands in both the Tanah Rata and Brinchang towns. Taxis usually charge 25 to 30 MYR per hour. If you eventually decide to book a tour, don't book one online. There are plenty of tour operators available in both Tanah Rata and Brinchang and you can explore them and select a package that better suits your personal preferences. In my personal experience, the Tanah Rata Tourist Information Center from where they sell the bus tickets offers good...More
