We went with JungleWalla on the recommendation of a colleague of mine (I’m a science teacher, and I hang out with some seasoned naturalists), and it was absolutely worth it. For a 2.5 hour tour of the mangrove forest with my septuagenarian parents, my wife, my 7 and 2 year old children, I can not recommend them enough. We paid for the private tour (~200USD). It was awesome. We say two species of Kingfisher, both species of Eagle, a large troop of monkeys, and a colony of bats in a cave. My son really liked the stop at the Fish Farm. Our guide was knowledgeable, and the pilot was able to get us into some really cool spots in the mangroves.

Highly recommended, from this AP Biology teacher. Should our travels ever bring us back to Langkawi, we’ll definitely be using them again.

We took the mangrove tour with JungleWalla and we absolutely loved it. The tour guide was extremely informed, spoke great English and he answered all our questions (he was also funny and cracked a bunch of jokes!). The tour is about 2 hours long on a motor boat that fits about 8 people. It is comfortable, but I recommend you bring water with you. Although the boat is covered, it will get fairly hot due to Langkawi's weather so stay hydrated and put on some sun screen!

Although the tour is all about the mangrove, they will take you to a fish farm and they will also go into some caves! You will see all sorts of wild life (especially monkeys!) so bring a good camera and a decent zoom lens! The eagles were beautiful and majestic, I personally could spend all day just looking at them! You can buy drinks and snacks at the fish farm (roughly half way through the tour), but it is cash only! So keep that in mind.

All in all, it was a great experience and a MUST do if you're already in Langkawi and are looking for something to do - keep in mind though that you will need cash to pay for the tour, they don't accept credit cards at their tour location (but they will accept credit cards at their office location which is a bit further out from their tour location).

My partner and I visited Langkawi in February 2020 and went on two absolutely fantastic tours with Ahmad Hermi with JungleWalla.

First we had a mangrove boat tour which was truly informative about the local geography, ecosystems and people. Ahmad gave a very personal insight into the wildlife we saw including monitor lizards and eagles with some personal anecdotes. It was reassuring to learn about ecotourism and the positive change that junglewalla is promoting.

The evening jungle trip was superb. My partner and I jumped onto the back of the jungle walla’s jeep and headed up into the rainforest and hills for a truly memorable evening. We were lucky enough to spot giant hornbills, watch a beautiful sunset and see giant flying squirrel and flying lemur. Ahmad knows his stuff inside and out! This is the highlight of our holiday to Malaysia! These are wildlife tours done right! Would highly recommend ☺️

We booked the morning Jungle trekking tour with Jungle Walla via our hotel, the Danna.
Unfortunately the hotel did not provide too much information and we were not pushy enough to dig for more details, which resulted in miss matched expectations.
We were expecting hiking in the jungle, and end up with a walking through the forest near the road (just 400 meters away, as the guide confirmed himself, as at few spots you could hear the traffic near by).
We were the group of six (6)people. The required fitness level, according to our opinion, it's really minimal.
The tour duration was approx.
An hour and 45 minutes.
Our friendly, Natur loving, passionate guide provided us with broad information about trees, plants, birds and other creatures you can find in the jungle.
We didn't not see any animals or birds (but heard some birds and aparently, even an eagle. However, we didn't see anything of it).
The animal viewing highlight were monkey next to the road that were almost hit by the passing by cars 🤨
I am not sure it was worth the money we paid for the tour.

There are 2 versions of walking/hiking offered. In tour description, it states clearly the trail is average with hilly terrain and some gradient. The aim of this activity is to give experience of langkawi Low Land Rainforest and enjoy the rainforest therapeutic quality in slow pace. Therefore as the title of this review written accurately, the Guest concerned misunderstood what the activity was all about. Armed with fitness watch and counting steps, she wanted it to be done in a fast pace and pushing guide to keep on walking when guide made stops to explain about flora and fauna. Guide keep on requesting to slow down because the other guests which are slightly older and slower are getting left far behind. The guide had to balance the needs of both sets of guests, which in the end resulted the activity ending earlier than schedule. As for pricing, we do our very best to make the prices affordable and still viable to run and we have maintain the same prices since 2005. We suggest to all Guests to read through tour descriptions and detail to ensure that you sign up for the right tour for your objective. Thank you.

This was simply the best guided tour we have ever experienced. As regular visitors to The Andaman, we have been visiting Langkawi for eleven years. This time, we booked a private wildlife photo tour to accommodate my father’s new interest in photography and our own passion for wildlife conservation. We struck gold with our JungleWalla guide, Hermi and driver Adhi who went above and beyond to make our experience truly magical. Hermi’s knowledge and passion for his beautiful country is breathtaking. He spotted so many rare birds and mammals for us and patiently assisted my father to get the best possible shots. The tour was perfectly customized to our group’s mixed interests and Hermi was determined we wouldn’t go hungry! He stopped at all the best local places for kopi, kueh, nasi lemak and pisang goreng! We are so happy we discovered JungleWalla and we will never forget this wonderful tour. Terima kasih 🙏

The trip consisted of viewing mangroves ( not the busy area) by boat, going to a bat cave a lovely lunch and swimming* in a fresh water pool. The guide was a little quiet and seemed to keep to a bit of a script but we enjoyed being the only people on the trip . The lunch at a Malaysian home was an unexpected bonus , fantastic. The fresh water swimming was well worth it we had it all to ourselves, a beautiful spot. Would highly recommend the trip

We went on the Rainforest After Dark tour. It was just two of us in our group who had booked together.

Venosha was our guide and we can happily say she was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. She had a wealth of knowledge about the rainforest environment, how the components of the rainforest work together and the habits of the animals & birds. She was also extremely patient and happy to wait to see whatever we were interested in.

We went in mid-July and and were very lucky to see the following: Great hornbill, Wreathed hornbill, Oriental pied hornbill, Asian fairy blue bird, Pacific swallow, Dusky leaf monkeys, Long tail macaque, Tokeh gecko, Colugo (flying lemur).

We were delighted to see animals in an ethical way that does not harm them or their environment. No feeding or bird calls used.

We would confidently recommend anyone interested or who has a love of nature to contact Junglewalla during their time in Langkawi. They are very accommodating, even though we booked at short notice, they made extra effort to facilitate us.

We will surely go with them again whenever we get back to Langkawi. Thank you!

The tour was the highlight of our trip. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was really an eye-opener and our guide Hermi was an excellent one. He was very knowledgeable and we learnt heaps from him. His passion to preserve nature has indeed inspired us to care more for the environment. :))

We took the Mangrove tour with a trip to the bat cave and following lunch we had a walk to swim in a beautiful jungle waterfall. This trip was amazing, our guide Ahmad Hermi was so knowledgeable and we learnt loads. We saw sea eagles and Brahmini Kites very close up, (this is an ethical tour so does not have feeding as this is bad for the ecosystem). We also saw many species of kingfisher, heron and bats. We were also lucky to see a flying snake, a sea cow and other amazing flora and fauna. Lunch was provided at a lovely local restaurant which couldn’t have been more welcoming and the local food was excellent. The waterfall we swam in during the afternoon was stunning.

A fantastic experience, thank you Ahmad and your encyclopaedic knowledge!

I am afraid my mobile photos really don’t do it justice!

Our Guide, Hermi, was really excellent, and gave us a wonderfully interesting day, seeing many wild creatures and birds, demonstrating the amazing diversity of Langkawi. I was generously assisted with the wildlife photography, which I had not done much of in the past. I managed to get some good shots, which would not have been possible without assistance - I will be putting the good advice into practice in the future - lots of practice! Our driver was very patient, and stopped frequently.
Well done Junglewalla - you gave us a top rate tour ++.
Junglewalla is highly recommended for a rewarding and informative wildlife trip..
