Beautiful little beach worth visiting because it is quite different than all other long beaches at Langkawi.
There was a little kiosk where a nice old man was selling coconuts, water, noodle cups and some snacks. The prices were very cheap compared to pantai cenang and it is nice to support local services. There isn't any other services.
Take a scooter here because the Grap works here only if some driver happens to drive near. Local people at the kiosk were so kind to let us use their wifi-hotspot to get a Grap (we didn't have an international driving license and finnish license is not enough so we could hire a scooter).

I think Pasir Tengkorak really needs some TLC from the authorities. The toilets were locked and the showers were not working when I was there. But that said, this little beach is GREAT for a morning swim, when the waves aren't too big. The sand is incredibly soft too. It's also far away from touristy areas, which means you'll get to enjoy more of the beach! Beach bums will definitely LOVE this place. P/S: I came here during the low season, so maybe your experience will be different at different times of the year.

A local told us about 'skull beach' and ever since then I really wanted to see it. The story goes that there was a Thai prison on the island less than 5km's away and escapees who didn't make the swim eventually washed up on this beach - hence the name skull beach. There's also an information board backing up this story on the beach.

There's plenty of parking although poor signposting from the road. When you're driving along just stop at the only car park on the road and the beach is a short walk from the car park. There's plenty of natural shade and some gazebos but there's no public toilets.

It was completely deserted when we visited just before lunch. There is an awesome looking Skull Café with furniture made from old tyres which was so cool but it was shut. We're in Langkawi in off peak season but if it's open in peak season it would be so amazing - it had hammocks and everything.

There were some decent looking size huts on the beach although they looked completely deserted. I'll attach the photo with the name though, deserted might be exactly what you want!

If only the rocks could talk!! The rocks on the beach are amazing.

The entry fee for the beach is 2RM, being charged by a hotel on the beach. The beach as such is clean, but the region isn't known for its sand I guess.

The water is moderately clear, but clean.

There's a small place that serves rice and little sea food as well, which was moderately priced.

The public facilities at the beach, weren't all that well maintained.

All in all a pretty decent beach, and the 2RM is helping keep the beach clean I guess.

This beach was gorgeous! While the actual shoreline was quite short, there were few people there when we went there during the off-season in early August. The water was a beautiful blue and the sand super soft. We had a great time there. There is also another beach reachable by cement stairs and pathway a short walk south of the main beach itself. We found no one there at this slightly smaller and less well-kept beach. It was charming all the same. The staircase going down to the other beach is a bit steep but it has hand-railings. If you like rock formations, this beach is a great spot to visit as there are very interesting rocks on the south side of it (the smaller one has some too). They have inner tubes that you can rent for 4 ringit and take out into the ocean. Also bathrooms/showerrooms which you have to pay for (less than 1 ringit, 50sen if I remember correctly). There is also a prayer room available for Muslim guests. Getting there.... it's directly after the Museum (which has more visible signage and right before the tunnel. If you go through the tunnel then you've gone too far.

Cenang is more populated with tourists and the market area has better options in terms of food, shopping and malls.
The Fun a traveler may get at Pasir Tengkorak is lesser then Cenang, though Tengkorak is not bad at all,the travellers may visit both these beaches in a day if proper time band managed.
Go Cenang at the last, probably by around 4 Pm,so that all the above mentioned factors may be covered by the traveller.

Probably the cleanest beach we visited. weather wasn't great that day so we didnt stay but it looked very nice! it was however quite small. There are cafes and changing rooms here which is nice as its not very close to civilisation. worth checking out for somewhere to swim

This little beach is the best on the island. It was a lot quieter than the pictures suggest. 2RM entry (about 40p) but it's to keep the beach clean...and it is clean. It can be difficult to get a taxi here, because there isn't any phone or signal, but it can be found easily with a scooter if you hire one. There is a small ramshackle hut serving food, which is so good that you'll hardly believe it came from a kitchen housed inside pallets and tarpaulin! If you have big stomachs, pre-order the "3 course" meal (more like 5 or 6) before lunch. You have to pre-order because the owners travel daily to the local fish market to get the freshest fish and produce available. It will set you back 45RM per head and when you convert it (£8/$14/€10) you'll do the maths 3 or 4 times because you'll be sure you've made a mistake. The pineapple curry and the winter-melon chips were highlights, but there is something new every night. There are also snacks available throughout the day and free coffee, or sliced pineapple may come your way if you are lucky. Make this a stop if you are here for a month or a day.

This beach is hard to locate if you are not familiar with its location. But it is sooo nice. The beach is small, located in a protected cove. The water is clean and clear, the white sand is powderly with no shells! The beach provides lots of shade. There is a concession stand a few meters from the water, and there is free toilet and shower stalls to use.I vote it as #1 in langkawi! But i secretly hope that it stays this quaint form without swamps of people!!
