Stopped by Beras Basah Island due to island hopping. Spent about an hour here lying on the beach and swimming. The beach was crowded due to those visitors from island hopping. The beach would be nicer if without any monkeys. The monkeys tried to snatch foods...More

It was not the same beach I went 15 years ago. It is crowded. Many boats planned this island as part of their trip and it is scattered with tourists. Monkeys on the island keep stealing food/drinks from the visitors. Avoid bringing food or swinging...More

The beach was very nice and clean regarding the sand and water. The coconut trees near the sea would remind us of the people who could be trapped in that island like Tom Hanks character in Cast Away movie.

First of all, getting into this place will require a pre booking from some island hopping providers. The same can be obtained either from your hotels or from kuah town areas. There is around 30 mins drive to this place using boat and you can...More

Firstly, the time given to spend here is more than an hour, the last of the island hopping activity, but there isn't even a proper toilet. This place should be upgraded to have facilities like proper toilets, maybe offer foot massages at reasonable rates, as...More

This is a very beautiful island in the Andaman Sea, visited here as a part of our island hopping tour and not at all disappointed. They give you ample time here to enjoy, swim, do some snorkelling and all over the white sand and beautiful...More

We came here due to an island hopping tour that we bought and we're not disappointed at all in this place! The water was clear, just you gotta watch out for the monkeys there because they're prone to snatching your things away from you. So...More

Nice beach, visited as part of Island hopping trip, so didn’t get much time over there. It is a nice beach, but beware of the monkeys. Enjoy the time there

NO it is better to take your own. There is a small shop on the island but when we visited it was closed.

Transportation to Beras Basah island (2 Replies)
Hello, me and my wife are going to Langkawi this August and I was wondering if there is any boat service that takes you to Beras Basah island (just Beras Basah, not included in island hopping tours). I can't find any information regarding this. Thank you very much

Dear Stavros, go to the Teluk Baru, near Awana Porto Malay. Negotiate there for a longboat. Anything from 60 to 80 RM one way. Ask for Pak One. Eva

Going to Langkawi with Baby (2 Replies)
Hi! I will be going to Langkawi this week with a 3.5 month old baby. We are just wondering if the half-day tour (Pregnant Maiden’s Island, Singa Island and Beras Basah Island) will be suitable for the baby? Also, what activities do you recommend for us to do while we have our baby with us? Thanks! :)

In my opinion, no its not suitable to bring a 3 month old baby on the island hopping tour.

Beras Basah Island Snorkeling (5 Replies)
Hello. I am visiting with my wife in Feb. We would like to snorkel. Have got bad reviews about Palau Payar plus it takes a whole day. Can we snorkel at Beras Barah during the island hopping tour itself?

Dear Hemil, don't expect too much at Basar. There is a small reef that I have seen but that goes 5 years back. Payar indeed can be disappointing. Koh Lipe is an alternative. For Langkawi my slogan is that the beauty of the archipelago is above the water line. I had an engine problem yesterday as a plastic bag blogged the cooling water inlet of my boat and I had to dive down. The visibility was less than one meter. But I admit that was around Kuah Bay and this area is certainly not as...More
