This is a beautiful island which is tainted by tourists, we turned up at around 2pm and the place was a mess, there was litter and plastic bottles everywhere.
The pigs were a nice touch and funny to watch. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again

Sugary white sand beach with clear blue waters. This was the last island as part of our island hopping tour.
One can go for snorkeling here. The snorkeling gear is available for rent. There is very limited option for refreshments.
This used to be much cleaner two year before when we first visited.

Pulau Beras Basah Island was the last stop which had an okay beach. It was basically like Cenang Beach without any of the shops. Although the water wasn't all that clear it was a pleasant spot to play around in the water for an hour.

We were dropped off here by the island hopping boat, along with hundreds of other people. It was hard to find a spot on the sand. There is an area set aside for swimming but several people encountered stinging jellyfish. Very touristy.

There was nothing much to do in this island. The seaside is rocky with many dead corals. So we couldn't really walk, swim or play water. We stayed for a short while and decided to head back to the jetty. Thankfully we chartered private boat and could head back anytime we liked.

Stopped by Beras Basah Island due to island hopping. Spent about an hour here lying on the beach and swimming. The beach was crowded due to those visitors from island hopping. The beach would be nicer if without any monkeys. The monkeys tried to snatch foods and drinks from beachgoers and spoilt the atmosphere of the beach. The water is not as clear as the water at Tanjung Rhu beach. Bear in mind that there were no changing rooms and toilets on the island. Worse than I expected.

We booked an island hopping tour from the ferry jetty, it incorporated a 3 island tour of Pulau Beras Basah - Eagle feeding at Singa Besar and Dayang Bunting, the pregnant maiden island.
The white sand beach of Beras Basah was lovely, but beware of the monkeys. Due to idiot tourists feeding them they have become cheeky and will bag snatch and rake for food. Bit of a shame really because people don't understand wild animals. The sea here was lovely to swim in however wasn't clear enough to snorkel or see anything of interest. In hindsight it may have been better to swim around the pier as there were lots of tropical fish harbouring on the down-sun side. (45 mins given to wander)
Next was the eagle feeding. This was interesting to watch and the birds are magnificent. However a little boring as we hung about too long.
Next was Dayang Bunting. Our boat driver stopped to show is the best viewpoint of the pregnant maiden hill before continuing round the coast to dock and let us on to the Geoforest island park. Again we were given 45 minutes- not long enough!
It is a short walk up the stairs for anyone of average fitness and ability, elderly or unfit will perhaps take a tad longer as the steps descending to the freshwater lake can be steep in places.
The lake looks lovely and the sounds of the jungle echoing over are great. We went for a swim away from the crowds and it was lovely water although not super clear so you can't snorkel or see anything, but this may have been due to the recent heavy rainfall we had, still worth a dip though.
Overall the island hopping is worth it for the sights.

It was not the same beach I went 15 years ago. It is crowded. Many boats planned this island as part of their trip and it is scattered with tourists. Monkeys on the island keep stealing food/drinks from the visitors. Avoid bringing food or swinging the food, these will attract their attention. If you can avoid this island, please do. Not worth the effort.

Long and Unspoilt Beach with Clear Water (Part of 3 Island Hopping Tour).
If you Like Nature and are beach goer than this place is recommended. Take walk on the beach; feel the calmness of the whole place. Very refreshing experience for people visiting from Big Cities.
Couples will Enjoy more; i guess.
Warning: Monkeys are near by; if you are feeding or animal friendly type they will keep on coming up to you.
What to wear: Swimsuit if possible you would like to dip in clear water. (No strong current so i guess its ideal in that sense)

We went to Beras Basah Island as part of an island hopping our - as you arrive, you are dropped off on a gloriously sandy white beach, with a scattering of palm trees, an abandoned jetty (home to some more monkeys) plus a small food and drink kiosk (and yes, they have ice-cold soft-drinks and snacks).
It can get quite busy here with all the various island hopping boats but the beach is big enough to make it feel not too crowded and there are plenty of shaded areas (including a picnic table area next to the kiosk).
You can whilst away your time swimming or watching the monkeys trying to cadge food of tourists (make sure you keep an eye on your bag at all times as they are very quick to pounce – we saw them get away with several plastic bags of food).

If we want to have more time snorkeling at Beras Basah Beach, should we just take a boat at Awana Porto Malai Terminal? What is the schedule of the boat transfer to and out of the Beras Basah Beach?
