- Patricia T28 contributionsPretty and serene beachread some reviews that this beach is private but fret not! it's accessible. We went around 5pm to catch sunset and it was low tide, saw many people walked towards the sea to mini islands/ rock formations in the middle of the sea. Need to alert and watch the tide level as it went up to waist level approaching 7pm. Make sure you make back to the shore before!Visited January 2020Written January 19, 2020
- DevonfishEngland, United Kingdom178 contributionsBeautiful PUBLIC beachWe have visited a number of times and the security at the Four Seasons always try and stop us. They tell you it is private when it is not. They will then tell you, you cannot take anything with you. It's a lie, they cannot stop you. I do not know exactly where the Four Seasons ends but if you want to walk along all the shoreline you can, we did so today without any further hinderance 29 Jan 2020.Visited January 2020Written January 29, 2020
- Darlo Globetrotter272 contributionsGreat stayAnother amazing stay at the Tanjung Rhu. We stayed here in the early post-covid days and promised ourselves we'd return. Total bliss and chilled out from start to finish, with the troubles of everyday life drifting away with the tide. The staff here are so friendly, the facilities are great, the local public beach has now opened back up just along the beach. This doesn't detract from the privacy, but does allow you to hop over for some local food or to organise some water sports etc.Visited January 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 2, 2023
- koolman3Leeds, United Kingdom1,874 contributionsChanged a lotI remember this beach being really nice and quiet but it looks like modernity has caught up. They have quad bikes operating from the beach. Quad bikes being driven on the beach by untrained tourist - isn’t that dangerous? Plus a quad bike every few mins creating so much noise and fumes. There is a volleyball net on the beach which you can use but other people might get annoyed. On the positive side, there are lots of shops there where you can buy food and drinks or book tours. There is a small group that do foot massage. The beach loungers are expensive but you can haggle with them. If you want to walk down left of the beach you get stopped by a security guard who says that part belongs to a hotel; you can walk along waterline but not too beach.Visited January 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 25, 2023
- FarizKL5 contributionsTanjung Rhu is NOT a private beachIt is a beautiful beach, long and white powdery sands. Worth the trip, and not that long from where we were which was near pantai cenang. As I was making my way along the beach a hotel staff told me I couldn’t proceed as the beach is private. I asked him who said so and he pointed to the Four Seasons security personnel who looked really uncomfortable when being put on the spot. I went to the security guy and asked him what he meant by this beach being private. He replied by saying this beach is under the supervision of Four Seasons Langkawi. My answer was supervising the beach did not make it theirs. He acknowledged that under Malaysian law I have the right to walk along the beach. And this was exactly what I did. This beach belongs to the people of Malaysia. And we gave Four Seasons Langkawi permission to share it with us. Not the other way round. So when you are here, go ahead and walk along the full length of the beach. Swim if you want to.Visited December 2020Traveled with familyWritten December 24, 2020

We spent most of our time lying in the shadow of the trees at the Kalut beach bar, enjoyable with suitable not to loud music... We sat there until it closed around 7 pm I believe. - Katherine D15 contributionsSwimmingWent on a windy day and so there was a cooling on-shore breeze. Made for a few waves on the beach and there was an out-going tide with a rip, so not ideal for swimming, Relatively clean, but the neighbouring jetty for the mangrove tours was disgusting, full of rubbish along the shoreline. A massive cleanup is needed, an embarrassment.Visited June 2023Written June 8, 2023

We stayed for a few hours and didn’t see many people which was just what we wanted. - Matkailija3 contributionsBeautiful long beachVery nice and wide beach. The sand is very hot during day time. At the moment there weren't jelly fish nets like in pantai tengah or cenang, but we didn't see any jelly fishes. There are many local restaurants and kiosk selling ice-smoothies. Prices are very cheap compared to pantai cenang.Visited January 2020Traveled with friendsWritten February 5, 2020

Hiring a car is a better option as it is away from the more commercial areas of the island. Getting a Grab or Uber might be difficult.

We are considering staying here in April 15 and would like to know if there is any evening entertainment at the resort. Any lounge/bar with live music?
