The shared trips are only in the very morning, so ended up buying tickets for 3 hrs private via website for 280 RM. We came at 14:00. Driver was a young guy who did not speak too great English, but was nice in person, said what he needed, so very good in totam.

Overall, the coolest thing is the ride in the rocks and trees. The rest is to make the trip cut into pieces to get the pace. Bat cave had many bats, all the caves of animals are rocks which resemble given animal only. Monkeys are around, so watch your belongings. Eagles are very nice. Not sure what the feed it with, yet I can imagine all the traffic may get them overfed. At least when there are multiple boats, only one feeds and the rest watches.

The stop at the beach for a swim has been a schizofrenic one. Overall, clean warm sea, beach as such a nice place. However, how the "f" can someone leave a Coca-Cola can there. What a shame. And another shame goes to the Tour operators and their management. Is it so hard for couple boats and guys to clean it up? This is a very cheap quick win! And I dont mean burn it there with all the plastics, but take away for proper trashing. It is making your living, so take care for it!

Last bit was the Fish farm. Rays? Release. Big fish? Swap for small one can pick and eat. This way, people can still watch and you make more money on lunches.

We had great fun with Abhu and team. Snorkelling first thing in the morning followed by mangrove caves, eagles and fish farm. Abhu even went off itinerary and took us to a waterfall on the way home as well as a stop off at a local shop. Great fun for all the family my boys are 12 and 8 and it was super safe and perfect for them.

Had a great time sailing around the beautiful, unspoilt mangrove forests. Lots of great photo opportunities. The Eagle feeding and fish farm were brilliant for the kids and ourselves too. I will certainly do this again on my next trip. For any photographers, make sure you have a 200mm lens for great eagle shots. Anything less isn’t going to work.

We hired a boat and went on the Kilim geo forest mangrove tour which included eagle watching, a bat cave and fish farm. The trip through the mangroves was enjoyable and the eagles spectacular. The so called fish farm was not a fish farm but consisted of six small squares with captive fish within. They were not there to be eaten but so that tourists could see them. It was so depressing to see, Giant trivali, five of them, powerful large sea fish swimming round and round in small circles. Ángel fish which should be feeding on the reefs overcrowded and sick, a few with eyes missing. Two beautiful stingrays swimming in circles destined to spend the rest of their days in the tiny net. This is totally at odds with caring for the environment and the creatures within it and totally spoiled the whole trip. I would take the tour but would avoid the ‘fish farm’ and believe that the fish should be released and that the people running it should concentrate on the restaurant.

Unfortunately this tour turned out to be a disappointment purely because of the fish farm. Basically tiny square net boxes filled with reef based fish in tanks way to small with beautiful marine life which was far to large for their pens purely for the amusement of tourists there is no breeding or sustainability reason for them to be there - considering this is a UNESCO recognised site this was a worrying find and needs to be dealt with by an authority.
Site seeing, eagle views, bat caves and coastline scenery were all amazing as per the rest of Langkawi but unfortunately this was all overshadowed by how they run their fish farms for this reason I urge people to boycott this attraction in favour of something more environmentally friendly.

my whole family went to Langkawi last month with my family.
i rent the car from terbilang travel & tour, and i returned the car earlier as my kids had high fever.
they promised to transfer the deposit and balance to my singapore bank account.

After i back to singapore, they sent me message on 24 may said that they will transfer money by 2 Jun, of course they didn’t do that.
So i contacted them again on 19 Jun, they promised that they will done the transferring by 20 Jun. again they just didn’t do that.
so i contacted them few times on 28 Jun, they never reply message and answer phone call.
finally they replied message on 29 Jun, they said that if you want your money asap, go back langkawi get it. otherwise wait until i transfer money to you when i have time.

This is how this travel agent does business.

We showed up at Mangrove and got the 2 hours or 3 hours tour for RM250. We later found out we could have gotten it for much cheaper if we had purchased ahead of time with an agency but would would of had to share the boat with others. The advantage of having a private boat is that you can go at your own pace. We finished 30 minutes early. Enjoyed the monkeys at the bat cave, fish farm and eagle watching.

My husband and I with our teenage sons hired a private boat for this tour and it was amazing. The route this tour takes is almost the same as the jet ski island hopping route but the experience is so different that both the tours has to done by all visitors to Langkawi. We were lucky enough to see around twenty dolphins swim past us . The guide who operated our boat spotted them and was smart enough to silence us and idle the boat among the dolphins. We had actually planned on booking this tour through the big companies we read about on the net. But we lucked out on getting an amazing driver who helped us book with a smaller and cheaper operator who provided the same experience. The route and attractions the tour take us through is the same with all operators, the difference is in the size and quality of the boat and the safety precautions. So if you make sure the boat is good and life jackets are provided and the guide that accompanies you is speaking your language then booking with smaller operators is fine I think. We saved a lot of money by doing so. And our trust in our taxi driver to take us to a legit operator paid of too. This taxi driver operates mainly in cenang area and I can't recommend him highly enough. He can be hired right from your airport pick up itself.

Absolutely the worst tour I have ever been on. Pick-up half an hour late, then waited at dock. Guide wanted women, some older, others in full length robes to climb up into a rocking boat without steps or handholds. Set him straight on that one. Then he proceeded to discourage us from wearing life jackets which is against the law and very dangerous out in open water where the boat driver took all kinds of chances. Most of this tour went against my instincts. We stopped to see the Eagles and the guide and others fed them junk food, then the monkeys. Same thing, more junk food. The "highlight" was stopping at a disgusting fish farm where the fish were kept in small cages and a sting ray was tortured for the amusement of tourists. Most tourists were not impressed. We stopped at a sort of floating restaurant for lunch. It sounded like a nice meal and everything tasted delicious but the servings were small and really only enough for one person, not two. Our final delight was a swim at the beach but the red flag was up so we only got to jump out of the rolling boat into the water, then waited some time before the guide led us down a road to the van and driver who was too lazy to come pick us up. This was a six hour trip. We emphatically do not recommend this tour.

We arranged the tour via Mr.Elmi , Smartholiday tour langkawi , via wattsap ,almost a month before our deparature to Langkawi.
He organized the tour , with a small sum of deposit RM 20 pp.Total paid RM 90 pp.
We were picked up before time , 8.56 am, 4 April 2015, as i remembered, there's no one else in the van , we're the 1st one.
Later the driver picked up 7 other ppl +1 baby ,then proceed to Tanjung Rhu Jetty.
Waited awhile at the pier then called to board the speedboat, 24 tourists + 1 guide and 1 captain, 26 persons in total.
The journey was smooth , sometimes at full speed, sometimes very slow, for us to enjoy the scenery.
1st stop was the monkey feeding , we managed to see some macaques swam to fetch the snacks.
Sailed further down the river , visiting the crocodile cave , bat cave , and so called fish farm ,i think it would be better if it called a floating restaurant.
We had fried rice , fried chicken fillet , some vegetable, iced orange syrup and sour soup for our lunch.
On the way , we saw the eagle feeding, 5 boats were on the spot but just one boat could feed them.
The guide said that if there's too many boats feed the eagle ,they wont fly ,they would swim instead because they will be too fat.Nice joke :-)
The boat stopped on the beach near Gua Cherita ,and we managed to swim in the warm sea water.
Overall nice experience ,and for the RM 90 pp we paid , it was worth it.
A little note for the tour operators , don't you think its better to feed the animals with natural foods ? Like bananas for monkeys ,or fish for the eagles ? It might be better for their health ,rite ?
