The story really is fantastic & well worth the visit to understand the woman & the legend. Unfortunately there is more tourist shops here than actual information. It is still worth a visit & the 17R entrance fee is very reasonable.

This visit was to learn the history and curse brought to the island by the killing of a lady named mahsuri. It was a bit too touristy as when you walk in, you walk into a buying area first and not the history and information of the person and place

This place is a sentimental memorial to a chaste good woman who was executed unfairly. The video they show is slightly cheesy, but wandering around the garden and appreciating the traditional Malay architecture is fun.

the area is divided into the tomb itself, some traditional houses and also small museum. the traditional houses are of different types, which depicts the different levels of the people (village head, the typical home, warrior's home, etc.) used to have traditional shows, but it was not available when we were there, apparently only during peak periods, i.e. school holidays.... The Legend of Langkawi Island. All about a woman with white blood. You can feel the 'Kampung Style' over this place and traditional wooden houses of Kedah.

Mahsuri is a legend in Langkawi. Learn this love story from the locals and you will understand why Langkawi is what it is today.

Excellent place to visit should be included in must do activities of langkawi. You should follow through the legend also should attend the musical performance by locals.

Well, as the name suggested, the focus is about a tomb. The tomb of Mahsuri. But the surrounding area is walled up and musical instruments, olden weapons and some musical performance that doesn't quite tie up with the legend is on display. The history is now out of reach of poor locals as it is walled up and gated with... More

It is worth to pay and go into this Mahsuri Tomb or we call it as Makam Mahsuri. There was a gallery and short clip of video to illustrate the story about Mahsuri. The people working there told us it was a real story and not only legend. Beside the tomb, Mahsuri's original house was well-maintained. The water from the... More
