The ferry tickets are fair, and the ferries have air-condition. However the rides in the sea can be uncomfortable during bad weather. The ferry can be over-crowded during weekends and during school-holidays.

Langkawi ferry is the place that connects Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore and other places by sea. The place needs better cleaning as I found it to be dirty during my visit.

Ferry ride cost RM70 to Penang and took about 3 hours. Were allowed to head upstairs and outdoor about 10 minutes after departure to enjoy the view. Were requested to return to cabin about 5 minutes before arriving Penang jetty. Nice view near Langkawi and Penang other than that would big open sea.

After reading some horror reviews about the ferry from Langkawi to Penang, I felt the need to leave a review. It was a convenient and easy way of getting to Penang. Admittedly we had a sunny, clear day, but there was absolutely no motion sickness problems that I noticed and you can easily see out of the windows. Only negative... More

Travelled to and from Langkawi by boat, and the ticket sellers seem to want to encourage you to hang around for a long wait. In Langkawi they asked us to arrive one hour before departure, and we did, only to find that customs does not open until 15 minutes before. If you have not shopped then it is ok, but... More

we decided to enjoy the ferry experience after reading many reviews on tripadvisor ,we had a mixed experience due to rain, we enjoyed very cool breeze and weather but at same time the drink offered were of very low quality and food was served cold, bargain a lot before booking ferry.

Wished I had read this page before booking the ferry. Boyfriend and I boarded the ferry from Penang to Langkawi. We took pills to prevent motion sickness as a caution... Unfortunately they did not work. The 3 hours ride was excruciating. I started vomiting 20 minutes into the ride and could not see myself completing the journey for 2 more... More

I just loved it passing the ocean on the ferry. The ferry is really fast and it was very adventurous though the AC was super cold.

The ferry took about 3 hours from Penang to Langkawi. When we arrived we were approached by porters who took our luggage for a fee. Only afterwards did we realise that this was optional and we could have loaded our own luggage. Make sure that you go to the toilet before you leave as you do not want to use... More
