We were making comparison at Pantai Cenang for kayaking and boy, aren't we glad to have found one that is guided by Mr Farley and En Zam. They possess the highest professionalism, knowledge and passion that shows in the 4 hours tour. We love the mangrove, hidden beach, eagles watching and Kilim Geoforest overall. I may not recommend the floating restaurant but I guess that's the only place we can eat after a long kayak session that leaves us hungry. This is a must - have experience when visiting Langkawi and I must say that every penny is very well spent. Do note that places offered in kayak trips are the same, but personally, our experience was made better and enhanced by their friendliness, sense of humour and generous sharing of topics asked. Thank you Mr Farley and En Zam!

My son and I was looking forward to this kayaking experience for sometime now. We met Farly (the main guide) and Zam(the assistant) at the geopark foodcourt and 4 other youngsters joined us too. As we started walking to the jetty it started to pour cats and dogs! My first thought was “thats it ....its gonna be a dreadful day who knows might even have to cancel☹️“. However, Farly assured me “ you never know what the weather is like up ahead and in the mangroves you wont even feel the rain!” Fingers crossed, off we went and true enough as we arrived the Bat Cave the rain did ease off. Farly extended a through explanation of the history and facts about the cave whilst Zam was busy clicking away all our photos😊. We moved on to our next destination the floating seafood restaurant where we pre ordered our lunch and thereafter excitedly got our briefing done by Zam for the kayaking session. You can choose a single or double kayak and their colours are so vibrant! I choose the single paddle pop kayak! Off we kayaked led by Farly into the mangroves and what a sight. Such serene surroundings of the mangroves and having to manoeuvre narrow passages and limbo rock getting under branches was such fun. My dreadful thought earlier had completely vanished. Farly is such a competent guide knowing his way around the mangroves and explaining the flora and fauna, eagles native to the area and not forgetting the creepy crawlies that call this home. We ventured to 2 other caves and even had the pleasure of meeting Mr Gigantic Spider!! All in all I highly recommend doing the mangrove kayak with Extreme Langkawi! You will not be disappointed 😊. Keep up the good experience Farly and Zam.

After having previously taken the standard mangrove tour in a motor boat, I knew that I wanted something different the next time we visited. With Farley and Extreme Langkawi, we found the perfect alternative. The opportunity to take our time, kayaking through the mangroves with a knowledgeable, experienced and friendly guide, was very welcomed. I highly recommend this way of experiencing Kilim. On that note, it is clear that the motor boat traffic is having an adverse affect on the shorelines. The motor boat drivers should be required to cut their wakes in sensitive areas. Anyway, for those who want to experience the mangrove forest up-close and have the ability for some mild kayaking, Extreme Langkawi is the way to go.

I took my son (16) and daughter (11) for a tour with Farly through the mangroves, went swimming and explored a surprise hidden cave too. It was a fantastic day out which felt like an adventure for us and the best thing we have done in Langkawi this week. Farly was a kind and informative host pointing out the wildlife which included eagles and hawks! He was also reassuring and knowledgeable so we felt safe on the waterways throughout. We enjoyed a few laughs along the way, saw some beautiful scenery up close, had some moderate exercise and overall it was great family fun for each of us that I will recommend to my family and friends. To cap it all, Farly took pictures along the way so we could remember the event. Only slight flaw was the vegetarian lunch at the floating restaurant. It may have been better to order the seafood on offer at extra expense. Thanks so much for a brilliant day out!

The change of weather during kayak brings out different atmosphere and scenary, which is nice to observe and feel. No worries for new timer, he's a guardian who let you familiarise with your kayak first, experience are valuable when created by own effort. Also along the way (bat cave+kayak) we got to understand what are the plants/animals, coupled with his good sense of humor, it was a pleasant trip.

Ps: if you're eating in floating restaurant, it won't hurt to try and ask for a discount.

Farley is a great tour guide, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the area and clearly loves doing what he does. He was also very good at communicating with us before the tour via text, giving us good directions and prompt at answering any questions we had.

The tour itself was interesting and the surroundings are beautiful. Kayaking through mangroves is a unique experience. Depending on your level of fitness and experience with kayaking, it can be a peaceful experience, a stressful experience, or a combination of both. For my 13 year old daughter and I, both with very little kayaking experience, kayaking together in the same boat was very difficult. We found it impossible to keep from running into trees through the narrow passages and keeping the kayak moving in the direction we wanted it. I am 43 years old, in fairly good shape, but I had a hard time getting into a comfortable position and my back hurt throughout the tour. By the end, we were ready for it to be over. We would have done better with the 2-hour tour, as opposed to 4 hours. However, my wife and son (16) took individual kayaks and had a much better experience. They described it as peaceful and fun. Still a lot of exertion required, but nice.

You have the option of buying lunch at a fish farm on this tour. If you decide to do this, be prepared to pay more than you’ve ever paid for lunch in Malaysia. It is amazing to be able to pick our your own live fish, lobster, crab, etc. to be prepared however you want it. And it was tasty...but, I was completely shocked by the price. And, unfortunately, by the time I asked about the price, it was too late to change our mind. Farly mentioned that they would weigh and tell us a price before we were charged, but that didn’t happen. I had to ask, and apparently, I asked too late. I feel communication could be better about what you are getting into with lunch.

Overall, had there been better communication about lunch and about the strenuous nature of kayaking for hours on end, it would have been a great tour. Because of the good job from Farley on conducting the tour and the uniqueness of the surroundings, I still give this 4 stars.

One of the best experiences we have ever had. It was both our first time Kayaking and Farly was a terrific host and guide, demonstrating his immense knowledge & entertaining stories on the mangrove ecosystem. We absolutely had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting langkawi. In fact, we’ll definitely go Kayaking with him again when we come back to the island. Truly unique experience.

This one is everything I look forward to when I think about kayaking. Not the typical kayak experience. This one will take you to the open sea, navigate through the mangrove, limbo under the mangrove tree branch, kayak under the rain while in open sea, take you to a good photo spots and many more. This is the type of tour that will make you do what many thought is impossible and grants you all the bragging rights.

Me and my family of 6 which consist of my husband, my son, my mom and 3 siblings did this on 15th Aug 2020. We start our tour with short nature walk to see the bats at the bat caves. Later on proceed to the floating restaurant for fish farm visit and our lunch. Post lunch is when the adventure begins. We went to the KILIM signboard from floating restaurant. We went through mangrove forest, secret beach and eagle point.

It is tiring but worth it. I went here once on a boat tour. And it is nothing as compared to kayaking. And for the nature guide Brother Farly, he is very well verse and uphold the nature guide title that he has. He give us short but concise information during the nature walk. And there a lot of new things I had learned from the short 30 minutes nature walk.

I wish Xtreme Langkawi all the best! And this is highly recommended

One of my bucket list checked! I have been wanting to do this everytime I come to Langkawi for holiday but I had to wait for my both kids to grow bit bigger to enjoy this activity. Amongst all activities I have done in Langkawi this is the best, trust me but it requires bit of your energy to do this trip. Initially I don't know which Kayaking tour operator to choose from but I guess I have chosen the right one based on past reviews here. Farly and his associate (Zam) are really experienced tour guide. Farly's forte is his communication skills. He explains everything in very articulate and I am still impressed with his ability to remember all the scientific names of flora and fauna that we passed through. I am a man who loves nature and this is one of closest way to be with the nature. Imagine you can enter the mangrove passage and the trees are just above your head and rub your shoulders. Not to forget also at the end of your journey they brought you to the Eagle feeding area and you can see eagles flying just above your head without any boat noise. Tips: save your camera battery till the last of your trip because that is where the eagle feeding will take placeMy pictures posted here can tell you all. Farly requested for our trip to shift from morning to after lunch. I guess many customer including me would prefer morning session but not many customer would understand his reason. He had to shift the timing so that he can take us through the narrow mangrove passage during high tide. He won't be able to do it during low tide. Thanks Farly and Zam for the breathtaking trip of my life!
