    So-So Location, Great Experience!
If you want a more spa-like location that makes you feel like you're in a spa in Bali, visit the Cenang Beach location. The Bayview Hotel isn't the most luxurious location for a spa but once inside the Alun-Alun spa you forget where you are at. Our spa therapists Ita and Ardi were very professional and very skilled. Will definitely return here on future trips to Langkawi.

    Best Spa in Cenang
Friendly, warm welcoming staff. Feels like you’re in expert hands when they start. So many good options to customise your spa and massage experience. They generate a good atmosphere and you always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Very popular and can be busy, they are as accommodating as they can be, but probably best to book in advance. Highly recommend Alun Alun to anyone passing through.

    Surprise find
Wow amazing place! The moment we entered we felt so relaxed. We were given a quick feet bath and some ginger tea prior to the message. The place smelled like aroma oils. Staff were all soooo friendly and welcoming. Got a reservation although i booked the day itself with a stroke of luck (they had to reject many calls cos they were then fully booked). The masseuses were very firm yet super gentle when speaking to you or making sure that you were comfortable. Will definitely return for sure. Do come and visit!!!

I had booked a half-day treatment program. It was a waste of time and money: the body scrub was OK. The body wrap was awful. They had me stay still in oil and banana leaves for 30 minutes and I had trouble breathing. The hot tub was a disappointment. It was in the same room and was not ventilated well enough. The massage was basically just oil rubbing. I would not call it a massage. The facial was just face scrub and then applying a moisturizer. Apparently, they have no idea what a facial is. the pedicure was Ok. The woman who took care of me was friendly, but she did a terrible job.

My husband and I have today enjoyed a truly wonderful traditional Malaysian massage at Alun-Alun Spa. It was totally relaxing and we were both made very welcomed. We would like to say a special thank you to Que and June for their magic hands.
At the end of your beautiful massage, you are given lovely tea with some carrots.
We would thourghly recommend this truly wonderful and relaxing experience.

Had many visits to Alun over the years and it never disappoints. Had 2 great aromatherapy massages in really nice surroundings. The staff are professional and very curtious. Prices are a bit more than the small places on the main street but much nicer environment and worth the xtra.

Highly recommend the Alun-Alun Spa. We booked the half-day package and enjoyed it immensely. nice welcome, lovely and skilled therapists, clean and nice setting. We swapped the body wrap with a longer massage. The Wave massage is fantastic!

Utterly disappointed with the massage with my friend. The alun massage package cost RM3000 for 2 hours but it was a torture.

They start off rubbing your feet and up to your hair and face. They did not wash their hands and the pressure was weak.

The essential oil had a musky and the room was blasting with loud music.

Skip this massage place.

This spa is beautiful and my massage was very good but one thing put a bad taste in my mouth. As I looked at the extensive menu, the woman at reception pushed the Alun Alun Special Massage immediately and said that I would love this massage. I was actually considering the Malaysian Traditional but took her advise. I know my massage. I have taken the Thai Massage course in Chiang Mai. I live in Thailand and get at least one massage per week. There is no difference between the Alun Alun and the Malaysian Traditional - except that the Alun Alun earns them RM 40 (£6) more. They are both oil massage with the same massage strokes. They are both also the same as a Thai Oil massage. So, in conclusion, this is a beautiful spa to go to and the massage is good - but don't be swayed by the Alun Alun Special Massage - just get the Traditional Malaysian for £6 cheaper.

I would like to share my recent experience at Alun Alun Spa (Pantai Cenang), the one which is situated opposite the Casa Del Mar. We called up to ask if they could arrange transport from and to our hotel and was told they could. Our transport arrived on time at 8pm. The good service ended here. My husband and I were ushered into a treatment room for 2 although we had earlier requested for separate rooms. While the therapists were washing our feet, the receptionist came in and told us that they could not arrange for a return transport as the packages we had asked for did not make up to Ringgit 500. Basic aromatherapy body massage costs from Ringgit 130 so we would have to add-on other treatments which we were not keen. We decided to continue with the balinese massage since we were already there. I had an extremely un-relaxing massage as one of the therapists was coughing and sneezing throughout the one hour massage and I was really afraid that it was the H1N1 virus. (Thankfully both of us had not develop any symptom associated with H1N1 since our return). The tea which was served to me after the treatment contained an insect, we decided to just pay and leave the distasteful spa. When we were presented the bill, there was a 10% service charge which was not told to us upfront and the earlier spa (Ishah Spa) which we went to had not charged us (incidentally Ishah Spa which is another 7-10mins drive away arranged for transport from and to our hotel with their compliments). The spa also refused to book a taxi for us, saying that it would be cheaper if we flag it by the roadside. My husband asked if we could pay the driver who drove us from the hotel to send us back and the spa receptionist said that the driver had gone home and called it a day. Our Langkawi holiday had been good until this bad service provided by Alun Alun Spa. I am sharing this so that someone else do not need to go through the same experience and have their holidays marred by it.

We arranged Alun Alun SPA after the tough the mangrove kayak trip. Comfortable and quiet environment and skilled massage made us completely relaxing, even fell asleep. Alun Alun SPA has two locations in Pantai Tengah and it's about ten minutes's drive between theses the two locations. We booked course of treatment in A location, but ran to B location mistakenly. After checking their schedule, Alun Alun SPA change the booking flexibly and allowd us to take treatment course in B location immediately. After the treatment, they even gave us a ride on their own shuttle bus from B location to A location which is more close to our dinner restaurant. Their good service is unforgettable.

Mani (normal, not 'spa') was RM66, 'normal' pedi was RM77. This is much more expensive than my regular Nail Parlour. But alas no NP in Langkawi. For that price, they use Sally Hensen nail polish. Rip off!! No base coat applied. No cuticle cream - just scrape the damn thing by brute force why not...? Never ever again!

My bf and I took the couple program treatment at Alun Alun Spa at Pantai Tengah next to the row of hotels where Holiday Villa is. The program we took has the following:

1. flower bath
2. massage
3. spa facial
4. foot reflexology

First - The flower bath water is burning hot

Second - Massage is real bad. The masseur is not a professional trained one but rather just an ordinary local who only knows how to squeeze ur back. Her fingernails are long that she squeezed my thigh with it causing so much pain that I actually automatically screamed because of the pain. I told her that it's pain and her fingernails are causing it, but she do not understand ENGLISH.
Then, she starts massaging my head which she didn't know she's actually pulling my hair strands out. I told her to skip massagnig my head because I didn't want my hair to be risked pulling all out by her but she again, she DON'T UNDERSTAND. Later on, she continues massaging my head.
When it came to SPA facial, this is the worst part. When it came to massagnig my face with those face oil, she dab so MUCH oil on my face whcih generally even leaked to my neck that I doubted her skills and started massaging badly with her fingers. I told her I want to skip this and asked her to wash away those oil with the cleanser. She said YES but she continue massaging which means SHE DON'T UNDERSTAND. I have to say STOP and asked her to wash with cleanser. She finally understood but she doesn't understand washing with cleanser. So she just used the sponge and wipe my face with water. I told her for more than 3 times to wash with cleanser but she continues wiping my face with the sponge soaked with water.
I have to finally call her manager in.

This the worst expensive spa service I have ever paid which is not worth it at all. No trained staffs and professional service provided.
