The Church of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic church and also the oldest church in the city, dating back to the late 19th century. The current building is a simple Romanesque design (I think), and painted in sky blue and white, like many heritage buildings in the state. There was no service when I visited, so I was able to visit the interior undisturbed. There wasn’t much to see inside as it’s plain to the point where I’d thought this was a protestant church if I hadn’t known otherwise.

A historic and the oldest of Catholic Church in JB built in 1920's. The original church was built in the year 1880'2 which was named Our Lady of Lourdes. The church is near an international branded hotel.

Took a stroll from Puteri Pacific Hotel to the Church about 10 minutes. Direct path down. Very old church I am told. No mass ongoing when I was there. I should say it is big enough for their community. Nice quaint church. All God's houses are beautiful. Made way down to Komtar and was surprised it is very near. Will visit again soon and also attend mass. They hv time of services on their website.

I was walking by JBCC, near Double tree Hotel and found a catholic church, i was very surprised , and I walk to get in , the church was closed , a Man gently closed to me and ask for my presence , who was the Priest, I asked him regarding the mass and He told me that only have on sunday at 7am because sunday is working day in Johor. then He invite me to the christmass mass , and really was very nice for me , in a Muslim country see a full church praying and singing for one of our best celebrations the born of Jesus of Nazareth. I'm very grateful that can visit all religion communities in this trip, i was in Buddhist temple, mesquita, Hindu temple, and find all people are thinking in God, praying and trying to be better men. That is that we are Human beings. but ever is good to find kind brothers in God, like JB community that make you feel home, no matter how far was you.

My first visit to this pretty little church in JB located within walking distance of the Causeway and the immigration checkpoint. Quite peaceful inside and a good way to escape the chaos of the malls. Pretty spartan inside but still worth a look. In any event, it's JB and not Venice so you should condition expectations appropriately.
