Remote River Expedition made our visit to Moronadva and Belo sur Mer really easy. One exchange of e-mails and everything was smoothly organized: transfer from the airport to Belo sur Mer, accommodation at Chez Maggie in Morondava, day visit to the avenue of the Baobas and the Kirindy forest. No delays or hidden costs, just good service and a knowledgable driver (Tony) as travel companion.

Greetings from Morondava, Good to meet you and we appreciate your taking the time to share your experience. And, of course, very glad you enjoyed your visit here in the Menabe (Western) Region and our services. After being closed for many months it's great to be open once again and receiving guests at the Chez Maggie. We'll pass compliments to Tony, RRE Crew and the Chez Maggie Team. Thanks again for spreading the word. ~ Best Regards

I chose RRE for my first visit to Madagascar in October 2018. I knew nothing about them but from what I read on TripAdvisor they seemed to be reliable. I was not disappointed! From the moment I arrived at Antananarivo, until it was time to return home everything worked beautifully. I was a solo traveller and Gary had laid on a wonderful introduction to Madagascar trip for me. It was a packed itinerary for 10 days but I loved it. I had my own car and driver, a very knowledgeable guide (Stella) who showed me round and was never stuck for an answer when I asked about things. I really can recommend RRE if you want to see Madagascar.

We arrived in Morondava in the off season (late November) with no plans and no real idea how we would be able to get to Tsingy, but Gary was able to get us set up with a driver & 4x4 off on a tour of Tsingy the next day. Gary recommended we stay at least 2 nights in Tsingy, then the third in the Kirindi forest, and to see the Baobab Avenue at Sunset on the last day back, and that was such a great itinerary. The Kirindi lodge in particular was one of the highlights of our trip. If you can, ask for Tony for your driver - he's funny, caring, and all around amazing!

We booked at chez Maggie in Morondava and then saw Remote River Tours on their website. We wanted to travel on our own, big with children it is more convenient to travel with a private driver in Madagascar. Remote Rivers could arrange a tour on short term and gave very good advise about sites to visit and not to visit. I really highly recommend them to anyone.

In my opinion Remote River Expeditions is an experienced tour operator that is able to customize your Madagascar itinerary to your wishes and needs, from a 1-day excursion to a 1-week itinerary in Western Madagascar or for example a complete 4-week Madagascar itinerary to discover the best places to see in Madagascar. We explored several places around Morondava and did a road trip along the highlights of the RN7! It was a total itinerary of 14 weeks. We travelled in a 4WD with a skilled driver and an English-speaking guide with a huge knowledge of the Malagasy nature, culture and history. Because of our guide Stella, we learned a lot about this ‘red island’ and that definitely made our Madagascar trip complete. We had a great experience and I would highly recommend contacting Remote River Expeditions if you’re planning to travel to Madagascar. I got in touch by mail and we had quick and reliable communications until our arrival. Their office is located at Chez Maggie, a great property in Morondava that also belongs to the owner of Remote River Expeditions. Their team will make sure you will not miss the best things to do in Madagascar. For Traveltomtom I wrote several articles on my trip with Remote River Expeditions in the West and South of Madagascar.

Happy to meet you all here in Morondava and very belated regards for 2020! We hope your year is off to a great start and the travels go well. Our apologies for the long delay in sending a message * Congratulations (again) on the 2019 National Geographic Photo Award. Wow - superb chameleon! Very glad you enjoyed your time here in the Menabe (Western) Region: Avenue of the Baobabs, Kirindy Forest Reserve and Betania Village, et al... And your nights with us at the Chez Maggie Hotel & Restaurant in Morondava. National Route 7 ~ your assessment: "This is the best 2-week Madagascar itinerary possible." Your in-depth and insightful articles about Morondava, Baobabs and the 'classic' RN7 route with Stella and Remote River Expeditions - MD show your appreciation for the people, uniqueness and wonders of our home. Your stunning imagines 'through my lens' further highlight the experience for all the see. Thank you. As you noted Remote River Expeditions - Madagascar is a locally based and owned tour company. We take pride in our careful attention to Madagascar itself and our standard of service and attention to detail for all visitors. As we discussed you only scratched the surface on your first visit. So many contrasting and exciting areas yet to be explored. 'Let's Make a Plan': A few ideas for your consideration: snorkeling with whale sharks; Aye Aye; Tsingy de Bemaraha; Andringitra trekking; Manambolo River; Belo sur Mer... We hope this message finds you well and to see you again soon. Best Regards, Gary, Baholy, Ludo, Stella, Tony... RRE Crew & Chez Maggie Team
