- EA E44 contributionsGreat experienceHere are some snapshots of my past experience in Beirut Lebanon. The scenery from the telefrique Harris’s up here is amazing. It is that moment when you crest that hill, you’re out of breath, you can feel your heart pounding against your rib cage, and you look up to see the whole world below you. Lebanon is not a desert. Lebanon has everything, even snow-capped mountains, glacier cold lakes that feed into the sea, and beautiful green vegetation that gives way to the wind blown hill tops the higher you climb. Below is just a sampling of what I’ve seen and experienced, I hope you enjoy!Visited February 2020Written February 1, 2020
- HalcatraEdinburgh, United Kingdom483 contributionsGreat experience!Usually I am not a big fan of cable cars - I do prefer hiking. But that cable car is great! It takes you not only at the top of the mountain to Harissa, but it takes you on a ride above the whole city of Jounieh. As it is not very historic city, it would not make any particular impression during the walk. But looking at the buildings from above was fascinating, I wish the ride was even longer! Great opportunity to look at the peculiar lebanese traffic, the way people build and decorate houses, also great views on the mountains and see. I definitely recommend.Visited February 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten February 19, 2020
- maritan1 contributionPerfect before paragliding club thermiquethe plan was paragliding with club thermique and then taking the cable car to Harissa. But then pilot Raja suggested that he can pick us up from Harissa directly if we like to take the cable car to Harissa. It was an awesome idea. We visited Harissa and the pick up of Paragliding club thermique was waiting for us just on time. The ride up to Harissa was great. it took around 9 minutes. We didnt wait long in line because it wasnt a weekend, that's what they told us. try it it;s very niceVisited June 2020Written June 24, 2020

The telepherique is a great way to visit Harissa, it is a short ride that gives a beautiful view over Beirut and takes you up to the amazing Harissa Church. With the Lebanese elegance and spirit to serve tourists, the telefrique is old, needs maintenance and the cars can do with a coat of fresh paint, not clean and the staff who help out always look tired an fed up (this is my third visit). The little shopping place where the teleferique lands and takes off, can be better maintained and developed to be more attractive to tourists and visitors.

It's nice to spend a happy day at Our Lady of Harissa, specially with family. Don't miss the true meaning of your stay, pray for the Lady. You can also have or create some joyful moments: take the telefrique and enjoy the view until you reach there. You can watch from a side the bay of Jounieh and from the other side the green mountain where on its top Our Lady is standing.

If you’re around the Teleferique area, you must try it. Actually you can go to Jounieh and take it all the way to Harissa which is extremely fun. From there you can easily order an Uber to Beirut (around $16) if you don’t want to go back to Jounieh.

We visited the Telefrique Harrisa on a sunny day this January and were absolutely amazed by the gorgeous view. For a small fee you can take the cable carts down the mountain and back up for a pretty breath-taking experience. We visited in the morning, but I supposed sunset is a phenomenal time to do this as well. All in all a very cool experience, but bear in mind that the carts are pretty old, making they trips up and down a little scary and filled with excitement.

It’s a very nice, and relatively cheap experience, take the cable car from Jounieh’s sea side road up to Harissa and watch the city shrink and the sounds get weaker and weaker. It feels like a miniature Lebanon, going from the city lights, sounds and buildings to the serenity of the mountains, trees and birds.
The view is absolutely amazing and you pass so close to some buildings that you feel you can high five the residents there.
There are several restaurants at the top and it’ll take you the Harissa (Lady of Lebanon).
If you’re on a tour (or in a taxi), ask your driver to meet you at the top. Or take it up and down (why not)
The journey has a descent time, if you’re in a group, try being silent for a moment and enjoy the sound and view transition from the top

This was my top experience at the end of day trip to Bcharri, Tripoli where it was cold and pouring down rain, like heavens open. Arrived by the usual speedy Ferarri mini van bus who possibly tried to create world record in journey time from Tripoli to Beirut, while easily chatting to another speedster in left lane like as if they were on coffee break. Cable car is interesting as you will be passing by appartment windows so close that you can nearly get coffee to go. It is so serene and peaceful place, that even if you are not spiritual you probably feel the energy as i felt so calm and peaceful. Do go there and see / feel for yourself. If nothing else the sunset view is really amazing.

Where is Telefrique Entrance? I stay at Bel Azur hotel. That'll be great if the Telefrique's entrance would be near my hotel & it takes me up to the Harissa!
