Pleasant walking tour of Almaty

I loved every minute of the city tour ,our tour guide yerkin is knowledgeable and pretty friendly.A must for every person visiting Alamty.

I have found the information about their free walking tour on their homepage and did a booking request. No confirmation about receiving this request nor confirming or declining the actual request.
I ended up going to the meeting in the hotel lobby because I anyhow would visit the center.
No one showed up so it seems the company isn’t operating anymore.

Dear Hauptstadteinwohner. We are very sorry that this happened, however, on all pages we indicate that currently only self-guided tours are provided in the izi.travel application. That is, you need to download the application and it will be your guide. This is often much more convenient for tourists, because there is no timetable, a specific route and any payment. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity in the future.

No Tour

We prebooked two places on the "free walking tour" which was due to start from Center Smart Tourism office in the lobby of Dostyk Hotel Almaty at 0900 on 22 April and arrived in good time to find that the office had closed down and the reception staff at the hotel had no knowledge of the company's whereabouts. Consequently we had no tour and wasted valuable time on what turned out to be a wild goose chase.

Dear Mike. Yes , our office closed, but We informed all our clients that now We provide only free audio-tours. You can download izi.TRAVEL app and walk without problem. We are very sorry that you did not understand this, but now the information is available on Facebook and on our page in Tripadvizor.

Good way to start your travel in Baku

They have waited for my arrival and as I have arrived a little later than I expected one of the girl help to join in the the group by actually running behind them while calling the guide in the other hand.
They had also recommended the app izi.travel that had helped me complete succesfullly my visit to Almaty by myself. Thank for all your help. I had learn how to love Almaty thanks to you!

Abay is very smart, excellent 2 day guide for Almaty

My friend Alan and I visited Almaty for the first time. As experienced travelers (over 70 countries each) we hired Abay, a young, but very smart young man to guide us in the city for 2 days. Abay has practical knowledge, and did answer many or our questions on the history, culture, popular attractions, and more. Definitely would hire him again!!

excellent tour to make your visit . Very convenient office location

It was a very cold and sunny december day, and I was the only person, The tour took place, on time. Our guide was excellent, he knew every detail, showed me the most important places in Almaty (what a lovely city, by the way), helped me to get tickets to the Opera and gave me very important directions on how to reach the ski slopes by bus in Shymbulak, where to rent ice skates to enjoy Medeu and a very good restaurant to taste local cuisine. So I am a very satisfied customer
Thank you very much to make my visit unforgettable!

Thank You ! Despite the cold and a small number of tourists, we still provide free walking tours to let more people know and love our city regardless of external factors. We hope you enjoyed the opera. Indeed, Almaty has a lot of cultural places and considered as cultural and historical center of Kazakhstan. When you visit Almaty again and go to theaters, galleries etc. we would be glad to see you again.

Good intro to Almaty

The meeting point is the luxurious 5 stars Dostyk Hotel (not to be confused with the nearby Dostyk Hostel!), and the reason is a 2 hours walk around the main streets and attractions of Almaty. Good introduction to know this modern new city with Yerkin, who speaks excelent English and is ready for any kind of question.
