Powder Nomads are ski touring enthusiasts you can fully trust. I spent 7 days with Alex exploring the Tien Shan mountains. They are maximally professional and you can feel extremely safe with them, they will perfectly play every detail of your trip.

Amazing back country ski organisation in remote Kazakhstan

Spent an AWESOME 10 days skiing two areas in north east Kazakhstan with Alexander. I can’t recommend powdernomadz highly enough. Everything was seamlessly organised and the skiing was a blast despite the spring like conditions at some points. Both Alexander and Darya were great fun. I found Alexander very knowledgeable and competent in the back country and was never worried that he wasn’t on top of the conditions.

If you’re hesitating - don’t! You won’t regret it!

Excelent guides for a great ski-mountaneering area

Darya, Alex, and the other guides of Powder Nomads where very nice and professional in our stay in Kazakhstan. They know the mountains better than their courtyard, they understood exactly our expectations: powder slopes, 4.000-m summits, steep couloirs, rock and snow climbing, ...
We have been 5-days in Talgar Pass iurt, summited Nursultan, Pioneer and Mynzhylky peaks, and skied down several nice couloirs. They were efficient, handling alternatives where snow conditions demanded it, helping people to get the summit or even taking us to a medical facility in Almaty to help us.
Extremely kind people, I definitely recommend them. Our adventure in Kazakhstan has been excellent, mostly thank to Powder Nomads

Fabulous horse riding tour!

Highly recommend! My 13 YO daughter and I had an amazing time on a horse riding in the mountains around Almaty. On our day trip, we drove up the mountains for an hour, learned lots about Kazakhstan and then arrived at the horse riding stables. From there we went riding on off road trails in the national park for 4 hours, with fabulous horse guides tagging along with us all. Excellent lunch at a middle Eastern place after. Powder nomads provide what guided travel should always be: organized, super knowledgeable, fun. This was our favorite guided tour ever! Thank you Alexander!!

Extraordinary mountain guide, meeting highest requirements. Top experience!

Amazing hike in the Turgen Valley with Alex, who was an extraordinary guide during all the trip.
This team is extremely professional: Darya kindly came the day before for preparing my bag, and prepared the necessary equipment for me.
During the hike, Alex was very considerate, courteous and helpful: he immediately felt when it was hard for me and gave me useful advice and support.
He perfectly knows the mountains and the region, and I felt completely safe with him.
This was an unforgettable walking tour in a stunning valley, thank you so much for this experience!

Ski touring experience Apr 19-20

It was my 2nd time ski touring experience with Darya and Alexander. Two days of great routes, skiing fresh powder, safety training, great organization and care for clients. Lots of beautiful views along the way; i very much enjoyed the overall experience. Alexander and Darya are experienced guides who know Almaty mountains very well and I am planning to explore more with them next season.

The best tracking tour!

It was the greatest tracking tour I've ever had! Dasha and Sasha are very professional guides. They created exciting mountain route for our group at Shukur valley. There were amazing views and unbeilivable emitions! Thanks a lot guys for your job!

Memorable Hike with Alex
May 2022 • Solo
An excellent guided hike with Alex, one way hike taking in five peaks including Chimbulachkq Peak at 3450m, finishing at the Shymbulak Ski Resort.

Total elevation gain of over 2000m and distance of 13km.

Highly recommended guide and I would love to return to Almaty to do some more hiking and backpacking.

Very professional and super fun

I spent the last winter and spring in Almaty and joined Dasha and Sasha for several ski adventures. These guys are excellent guides and they work really hard on researching the area, planning the tours, organising the logistics and accommodating the guests. They also really know how to teach off-piste skiing techniques as well as avalanche safety. I became a much better skier thanks to them and got to ski in big mountain landscapes that you normally only see in ski movies.

Ps. If you're lucky you may get to meet their dog Joy who is gorgeous

Fantastic trip

The travel experience with Alex was very special to me. We explored the road and found a special place. We met many animals, and we made friends with them. It was our first camping experience, but Alex skillfully helped us and served us delicious dishes. This is a trip where you can feel the real wild.
