My wife and I planned a ten day trip to Kazakhstan and were recommended to contact Andrey at Kolsai Tours by a friend who used his services over summer. This trip was one of the most amazing two days of travelling I've done. Cities are cities and to get out and see the beautiful nature of Kazakhstan exceeded all expectations (and our expectations were high). We visited in off season so were lucky enough that each place we visited we had to ourselves. The first day we drove to the spectacular Charyn Canyon, we spent a couple of hours waking around the canyon and down to the river before having a private and isolated picnic lunch. Andrey also knew all the good spot to go for the best photos! We spent the night at Saty village (near the Kyrgyzstan border) in comfortable accommodation with tasty food. The next morning we explored both lakes, both were brilliant!!! There was still plenty of snow and ice around sopart of the lakes were covered with ice and parts you could see the amazing blue/green colours. I think the sunken forest was my favourite! Anyway, I could go on forever....... If you're in Almaty and have a couple of free days I would highly suggest this tour. It might seem expensive, but everything is covered on the tour (meals, water, fuel, accommodation etc) and some places are only accessible via 4WD and Andrey knows his stuff!! Such a great couple of days :-)

I did a transit in Almaty for 20 hours and there were too many places I would like to visit. I came across to see Kolsai Tour, I emailed Andrey and he did a custom-made tour to the Charyn Canyon and also the Big Almaty Lake which I would like to see both in a day.
Andrey picked me up from the airport and drove to the Charyn Canyon first, he is professional and he took me to all the spots with amazing views, he’s also a good photographer as well!
I am also surprised with his driving skill on our way to the the Big Almaty Lake, everything was just perfect with a cup of tea and cakes with the amazing views
The tour was supposed to be around 12 hours and ended up Andrey took me to the Almaty city centre for a few pictures and also dinner as well before he drove me back to the airport.
Anyway things are amazing and I hope to go back to Almaty to see more and for sure I will pick Andrey and the Kolsai Tour! 😀😀

Many thanks to Kolsai Tour for an unforgettable day that I will definitely remember all my life. We traveled to Kazakhstan in May 2019 and spent a few days in Almaty. There we booked an excursion with Kolsai Tour with Andrej as our guide. The email contact with him was very nice, he picked us up from the hotel very reliably and then drove us in his special car to Lake Almaty and the meteorological station. We had some delicious Plov in between, which we had with a great mountain view. Andrej is really a great guide, he is super knowledgeable, takes great photos for you, and overall makes for a great program. If we had been in Almaty longer, we might have done other trips with Kolsai Tours. I hope we can visit Kazakhstan again, then we will definitely go for Kolsai Tours again. Warmest recommendation!

This was a really great tour that packed a lot of different scenery and activity into one day. We went first to Issyk Lake which was beautiful in the autumn, then to Trans-Ili Alatau Park. Most of the tour was low impact as I haven't been able to exercise much during the COVID-19 quarantine and am over 50, but there was some activity such as hiking to a lovely waterfall and hiking around Issyk Lake and high up in the nearby mountains. Andrei was a splendid guide who was very easy company on the trip, spoke English very well, and provided some lovely picnic meals at some pretty spots on the way to our destinations. He every was able to make hot tea and heat meals for lunch for me. He really did think of everything that could make the trip fun, memorable, and enjoyable. I really highly recommend him for any excursions you might wish to make around Almaty! I certainly plan to engage him again when I am next in town.

We went to Esik lake and ethno village with my family.
The day was a day to remember and especially with our tour guide "Andre".
From the beginning, Andre provided us with the trip schedule. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and he made sure to accommodate all our request.
The fiest half of the trip started by visiting Esik lake, followed by a picnic in a beautiful location and fully arranged by Andre.
Second half of the day, we went to Ethno village, learned about Kazakh tradition followed by one hour horse ride.
To end the day, we ate berchparmak (traditional kazakh food with tasty horse meat).

I would recommend Andre for any tour in Kazakhstan and for sure we will see him again next year when we come back.

Andrew our magical tour guide made the tour so interesting, informative and he has a real interest in what he is doing and he is able to get others interested. I would highly recommend Kolsai Tour to everyone interested in Kazakh history and also to anyone who loves to see photogenic abandoned areas of an amazing natures. Andrew not only gave you the typical history lesson (dates and numbers) but also personalized it so you could feel the anxiety, fear and excitement. It was awesome!!! So much more than I ever thought it could be. Andrew as a tour guy was one of the most interesting person I have ever met. Great attitude, happy, friendly and an immense amount of knowledge about the area, wildlife, history, indigenous culture etc and moreover Andrew is skilled photographer who will advice, guide and capture your such pictures which will dropped your jaws down.

Great time...something unusual, informative, amazing to feel so close to a part of history, the scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for being such a great host and a wonderful tour guide. You took us to places we hardly had any idea about. You and this trip will be etched out in our memories forever. Even after coming back from our trip, I cannot get your jokes out of my mind. We did not feel like we were vacationers in the region. You made us feel like we were one of you. I have never experienced such love and affection in a foreign land. You were more than a tour guide to us but a friend with a true hospitality heart. I truly recommend Andrew who is magical and the words coming out from a person who works in luxury hospitality too. I would like to say that he born to be in this field. Udachi moi dryg Andrew, Davai 😉😉😉

We went on a trip to Altynemel in mid-October. The price seemed quite high at the beginning, but I quickly found out that it was worth it. Andriej provided us with a fantastic trip in an off-road vehicle to the steppes, dune and Aktau mountains. At a price comparable to that of competing companies, we got breakfast, overnight stay in the countryside, and wonderful local food for lunch and dinner. A picnic on the steppe was a surprise and a barbecue in the mountains was fantastic. On the way to Almaty we also visited the museum of historical cars and the time of the USSR. I highly recommend his guided services, it was a great trip.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Andrey. I was in Almaty for just a brief time with my parents, and contacted Andrey ahead of time to help us plan a day outside the city. He was very responsive and helpful in organizing a great day to suit us!

He picked us up in the morning, very punctual, in a large, clean, modern vehicle. Most importantly, I knew right away that he would be great company. He speaks great English, and has a very easy-going and friendly personality. His pride for his job— and for his country— is obvious. He truly wants to show you the best of the area and make the time memorable.

Andrey took us to the Huns Ethno Village, which I requested. Although I usually stay away from “tourist activities” (even though I am one!), I had read great reviews on this, and the reviews were correct— they do a great job!

Andrey also was so accommodating, and adapted on the spot once he got a read on our specific interets. For example, we wanted to see some more nature, but we were short on time in Kazakhstan so we couldn’t go too far, and my parents are unable to hike. So Andrey took us to a ski resort where we rode the cable car up to a beautiful look-out point to see the snowy mountains. We also stopped to buy apples from some locals on the side of the road— the apples were the best I’ve ever had, and we really enjoyed the short interaction with the locals.

Our day was extraordinary, and it truly was a result of Andrey’s planning and his wonderful personality. We learned a lot from talking with him, and feel like we gained a friend. Thank you Andrey!

I booked for three of us to go on the lakes and canyon tour and would highly recommend. Our guide Andrey took great care of us throughout the day (and it was a long day!).
If you're looking for a unique experience round some of Kazakhstan's most beautiful natural sites, this is the place to book!!

What an adventure! Myself and two friends had an exceptional and unforgettable experience on this adventure! We enjoyed multiple canyons within Charyn Canyon National Park and we also enjoyed the lakes near Saty village (First Kolsai and Kaindy). Everything was so beautiful and enjoyable for this long weekend. The food was exceptional and the people warm and inviting. Vlad was an excellent guide providing us with the adventure of a lifetime!
We took our trip in May over a long weekend (Defender of the Fatherland and Victory Days) and the weather was wonderful and the scenery with the roaming herds of animals was truly breathtaking! 100% would highly recommend!!
