Just a quick walk from the central Sendai train station the covered walking street offers a variety of shops an restaurants. Hidden gems for wine and food can be found in side allies and back streets.

A three minute walk from Sendai Station. A three minute ride on the Tozai Line from Sendai Station to Aoba-dori Ichibancho Station and a one minute walk from there. This place has a lot to offer. All sorts of different and great places to shop here. Also great places to eat and fill you up, to your hearts content. This place is probably a few blocks long. So many directions you can travel and shop. Very nice and with a great variety of stores to shop at. There is even a Buddhist Temple in here as well. I really enjoyed walking around window shopping, snacking, having a coffee, and just taking it all in. It was an enjoyable time here.

It runs a few blocks from JR Station. The covered walkway is lined with shops and restaurants on both sides. You can find basically everything here — department store, household goods, second handed books etc.

A few restaurants, shops, and a McDonald's. But you really go here to see two really cool postwar style alleyways: Iroha Yokocho & Bunka Yokocho (although this one has been going since before the war actually!). Fun to walk through during the day, a must when wandering around at night! The bars are so small that you sit shoulder-to-shoulder! Great way to talk with the locals!
