The Yatai village in Hon-Hachinohe comes alive during the evening hours when locals gather around for bar foods and social interactions. It is in the center of Hon-Hachinohe where entertainment facilities and department stores located. There are several yokochos in the area; each alleyway sandwiched between tall commercial buildings and occupied by individual owned foods and beer stalls. Each stall is small with only a few bar seats. If you are looking to have a sit down dinner with your family this place is not the type where you would go. But if you want to drink and social for hours then you find the place. Each stall is usually a one-person operated business and offers bar foods to go with the alcohol beverages for mature adults. For the visitors who like alcohol drink this would be the place for you to experience local culture that is similar to tapas bars. Yatai village is about 15 min. by foot from JR Hon-Hachinohe Station.

不明朗なお店がある一方で『鳥将』は最高でした。お客さん同士のコミュニケーションも自然と生まれ、旅好きな人にはグッドな出会いがあるかもしれません。
You can have a wonderful experience with locals. But some salls are not good for a traveller so be careful.

Went to eat and drink at Shiosai for charcoal grilled Patagonian Toothfish, Senbei Soup, and drinking Shōchū.
Good playful atmosphere with many food/drinking stands.

Had the best ramen ever here - Hachinohe ramen - in a cozy, small ramen shop towards the end of the yokocho. Sometimes there's also a "No Face" from Spirited Away playing music to certain bars randomly, which is a really funny sight. Hachinohe may be fairly quiet during the day and night, but the yokocho springs to life during the evening! Highly recommend trying the oden at certain bars, senbei-shiru (soup) and ramen.

It is one of the bar alleys in Hachinohe. It is not an old alley, but an alley built when Hachinohe Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen opened, so there are new shops. It is crowded with customers at night.
