The bridge is famous as the place sung in Yosakoi. If you don't know the song, the bridge may be small and boring...

If you take the my-yu bus, one the way back to Kochi station, you will pass by Harimaya bashi station, please get off at this bus station. You will see the bridge immediately when you alighted from the bus. It is a small bashi, but with historical values, and it reminds me of the super famous bridge at Nikko.

I heard so many bland stories about it, I had to visit it when I was in the area. It was as average as i heard, but I was glad I stopped by since I was in the area anyway.

This is very tiny but nice to see this area.

Small imitation bridge. It may not be the destination, but located at convenient neighborhood. Good place to take trip photos.

This place is a small cute bridge but has interesting legendary stories that give a lot of room for imagination. You should be familiar with its culture and history before you go. You will see not much and little activities.
But by combining the scenes you see there and the memories you have gained ahead of time, you can develop a bigger than life scenarios of
a love story between a monk and a lady,
colorful and energetic Yosakoi festival dance
and a beautiful song originated here.
All those are very popular throughout Japan.
You need to be prepared with knowledge and go to enjoy the trip.

I am sure that the first thought everyone has when they find the bridge is "That's it???".
Granted, it is very pretty small bridge that is well cared for and featured on many promotional items for the City of Kochi.

We were fortunate in that a group of cute, well behaved school kids happened to stop by for a photo. Being able to include them in our photos made all the difference.

This bridge is a part of local history from a story about a monk who fell in love with a woman and was eventually banished. The bridge is quite small but makes for a nice photo op. It is located near a lot of other things to do so it doesn't really require a separate trip to find.
