This arcade connects to Okaido Arcade. At the other end of the street, there is an escalator to take you down to the Matsuchika Town underground shopping complex. Lots of interesting shops and places for eating and drinking in all these connecting shopping conplexes. Great place to spend when it rains.

Gintengai is a shopping arcade, which links Matsuyamashi station and Okaido. Even you do not buy anything, you can enjoy a window shopping.

Gintengai is basically a long, L shaped shopping street. It is the one place you can go in Matsuyama to buy just about anything. In the summer it's a fraction cooler than outside being undercover. When it rains you can still wander round and stay dry. The best thing about Gintengai is the people watching. The comedy fashions of the young Japanese guys with their jeans down around their knees to the friendly old ladies who stop to chat even though you can't understand what they're on about. There are often special events going on such as an earthquake simulator, buskers and other street entertainers. If you are in Matsuyama for more than a few hours your sure to come here. It's the centre of the Matsuyama universe!
