We started with lunch before getting to the entrance -- a reasonably-priced buffet with local tastes. The zoo was a lot of fun. Cheap to get in but then some things inside (rides, for example) cost a little extra. The petting zoo was fun for our 5 y/o and 7 y/o.

Visited with our neighbors. This is a zoo with lots of animals, but average quality. You get to walk essentially mostly downhill and then take an elevator to the top when finished. It is great place for younger kids. There is also an indoor play area which we did not visit.

While this is not the most amazing zoo we have ever experienced, it is a cute little excursion, especially if you have kids. Some nice surrounding gardens and ponds as well as some light festivals and activities around the holidays.

A great place to visit with the kids. A nice walkable zoo, but with some hills. There are rides and fishing that you can do with the kids. There is also a fun interactive museum. A great whole day activity for the family!

Its not expensive so not bad for the value. But its not well kept and the animal enclosures are smaller than they should be. The elephant had a baby recently and we were lucky enough to be there during the feeding time.

Okinawa can learn from other countries on how to treat caged animals. It is pathetic to see the animals in a sad state...of course, that is not their natural habitat. The only part I like in this place is their science center and the area for feeding the fish.

The best exhibits are the huge cages with bats. The bats are big and so cute! The bigger animals just look miserable on their cement slabs. It's ok for young kids, who might not notice, and the walk around the park is nice, open, pretty landscaping. But mind the midday heat! However, inside the zoo is a children's museum that... More

My daughter enjoyed the petting(open from 9:30~) area the most. They had guinea-pigs, chicks, two goats , three rabbits and four turtles. She wanted to ride the elephant for 2000¥ but when she saw it chained to the fence refused . We saw the hippos being fed. They have pony rides on Saturday and Sunday for 500¥. Nice holidays illumination!

This zoo makes absolutely no effort to provide anything resembling a natural habitat for most of the animals. Almost all are housed in small pens with concrete pads. There are much better places to spend my time and money on Okinawa.
