Located at the Kokusai Street in the heart of Naha, this is the official souvenir shop of the Churaumi Aquarium - one of the world's best. They have a few fish tanks that offer a glimpse of the aquarium, lots of souvenirs and a cafe, where you can purchase advance tickets to the aquarium, located 90 km from Naha. Worth a visit.

One of the best aquariums I ever been to in the world, my kids loved it. What a spectacular place to see.

Umichurara aquarium is one of the largest aquariums of its kind a 90 Km Drive from Naha , its best to get an early start the aquarium opens from 10 AM to 10 pm and in order to catch all the shows its best to get there early.
the Dolphin show is not to be missed and there are only 3 shows a day so better be on time , there have several sharks and fishes in a huge central tank and the viewing can be done from several decks , there is also a cafe if you want rest your legs and grab a bite or just sit around.
there are several small cafes around and the food is reasonably priced.
once done with the fishes you can take a stroll down to the Emerald beach ( however it was closed when we visited due to typhoon alert) All in all a day well spent.
Do visit.

We participated in the package tour- several sightseeing spots and a buffet lunch was included, very interesting and educational detail showcase in this aquarium, recommended the kids will love it very much! Go for fun!

It depends on the day but the day we went, it was so crowded that we were like pushed around in the aquarium and could not enjoy observing the fish and sea creatures. The buildings and facilities are old and not quite fascinating.

Its a very nice aquarium for which you may spend the whole day there. Whale shark is extraordinary. Just cannot find this anywhere else in the world. In addition, there is a restaurant in the aquarium and you may queue for the table close to the aquarium. The food there was just very average but there was no other choice.
Dolphin performance was good too. A must see for me and my family.
There is a beautiful beach besides it for which I don't have enough time to take a visit this time. May visit it again when I go to Okinawa in the future.
PS. Park No. 7 is the closest park to the aquarium. Driving is much more convenient way to visit the aquarium.

I was there when this aquarium was brand new for the 1975 World Expo. One of few facilities left from the Expo. At the time, I think it had the biggest tank in the world. It's still good to visit and there is a restaurant where you can have your meal while sitting right next to one of the tanks. The main eye-catcher are the 2 big whale sharks - they are magnificent. The entrance fee is very reasonable compared to some aquariums I have been to in USA. When I visited, there were so many tour groups from Asia, it was fairly crowded. It was a Saturday when I went but, it looks like it's very busy every day of the week but Wednesdays and Thursdays might be less crowded on average.

The large tank and the two huge whale sharks are show stoppers. What a sight. I've seen many an aquarium, in Seattle, Vancouver BC, Oregon Coast, Monterey, San Diego; I love aquariums, and this one really stands out with those two really huge whale sharks. It's a couple hours drive from Naha but, wow, is it worth it.

Ok. I admit it. We flew to Okinawa from Osaka just to go to this aquarium. I’m so glad I did! Incredibly beautiful. Expansive! Plan on being here six hours or more. Plan early if you didn’t rent a car (Okinawa had age restrictions, and another tourist from Germany said his international license had to be “converted “ to a Japanese one..)use the express bus about 2000 yen each way. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN!

This is one of of the MUST go destinations in Okinawa: thoroughly enjoyed watching the large variety of water living species ranging from deep water fishes and corals to river fish. Recommend to spare at least 3 hours here to check out everything in the aquarium and watch the fascinating dolphin show which is only on certain timing. The local Okinawa village in the same compound is nice to check out too.

How long does it take to walk thru the aquarium? 4 hours or more?

This place is like a branch office. Ten tanks or less. The time is over in a few minutes. However, there are very cute creatures.
