Not as big as Makishi public market and with only one or two restaurants to dine in, Tomari market offer better value in terms of price and less hard selling. Take note that if you plan to buy from the various shops do note that the wasabi and soya sauce may be limited. There are some tables at the entrance where you can stand to eat. Nothing too spectacular here other than better priced fish and this place is quite a distance away from the main streets.

If you do not enjoy sashimi, or just like Salmon, SKIP this attraction. We were so lucky to have top grade TORO, shrimp and giant octopus for sashimi plus Okinawa sea grapes for lunch here. All were so fresh, tasty and CHEAP. However, we could only dine on a long "table" at the far end of the stalls. Any trash left after eating should be returned to the stall where you bought your fresh ingredients. Please note there is only one stall offering hot food with around 20+ seats here.

We went there a rather late in the day (around 4pm) and most stalls were either closed or packing up. Nonetheless, we got a few packs/boxes of sashimi and they were delicious! Wasabi was provided but soy sauce came at an extra charge (not sure about other stalls). The stalls seemed rather focused on closing instead of customers, but well, maybe our timing weren't right. It's worth a visit if you like sashimi, otherwise it's quite a small area with nothing much, just seafood everywhere.

Tried the sashimi, grilled lobsters at the Tomari Iyumachi market. Comparing to Makiahi First Market, i personally will be more incline for seafood here for the cheaper pricing

Naha's fish market is small, but still very interesting to walk through and see what they sell and eat. There are a few places that do cook some of the food, and plenty of booths with fresh sushi.

You can not only find the freshest of fish and shellfish but the thing that draws me here at every trip is the cheapest and most freshest Umi (Sea Urchin).

Although this is not a big scale of fish market but it serve good and fresh sashimi and meals. We had our breakfast here. I would recommend to come here early morning to start your day. All the food excited us. We ordered one bowl of black squid ink as per recommended. It was nice when it was hot. Can try. We also tried our so called "fish porridge" It was nice and sweet. Convenient parking too. Recommended.

You need to be up early for this experience, 530am in the morning gets you there to observe the many people involved in the fishing trade.First of all you need to be respectful and not interfere with their jobs. I photograph the auction from the outside
not to intrude or contaminate the auction floor. The excitement and hard work is energizing. Later the fish is cut and prepared and will be ready to buy from many small vendors soon. Great pictures of fish and great fresh seafood to partake. many vehicles and carts in action.

This is probably the best place for sashimi and seafood in Naha. Whilst tourists do come here, it feels much less touristy than the market close to kukosai dori.

The seafood all looked very fresh as we saw fishmongers preparing and cleaning seafood in the back. We also saw customers who looked like they are sushi chefs!

There are a lot of colorful fish to look around. Not only, you can eat sashimi, fresh oysters, sea urchin, shrimps etc. on the spot!
Taxi is the easiest to get there.
