This building comes across as authentically Japanese. From the architecture to the coy fish swimming around the moat. It is free to see and a short walk from Shurijo Castle. A great picturesque spot to stop for a photograph.

This small wooden cottage is located just a short walk from the Shuri castle and is worth visiting whilst you're in the area. If you're lucky there might not be too many people around and you'll be able to have a few moments of peace...More

A beautiful spot, close to Shuri Castle. You need a GPS or guide book to find it but once you park and walk through the old guard gates and into the surrounding area you will see what living the life of a king would be...More

Close to the castle, another pit stop if you are on the way out. Lots of ducks, and they will hunt you down for food so be warned if you decide to park your self near by.

This is within the grounds of the castle and is really nice and quiet for a stroll and photo stop. A must do.

Small but a good place to visit, AND its right outside of Shuri-Castle, so you may as well anyways, right?! Bring Bread for the Geese/Ducks/Frogs/Fish and Turtles. They're very friendly unless you get a little TOO friendly with them, then not so much. Good place...More

The Hall is located on an island that is accesible by an old bridge. It is very peaceful and quiet. Perfect place for a photo.

Beautiful scene and breeze, I had a rice ball and tea with gorgeous view there! And please don't left trash after picnicking.

As you leave the castle from Kyukeimon or Kankaimon it is impossible to miss it. If you're a part of the stamp rally you must go to Enkanchi to see the Hall and get your stamp. Enjoy!

I recommend visiting this spot immediately after you visit Shurijo Castle. Very peaceful and relaxing to walk along the bridge and through the trees. GREAT picture spots here. You can feed the ducks or sit and enjoy a snack while taking in the beauty all...More
