The original garden of royalty where the King and his family would entertain. The timeless grounds are well landscaped circular garden paths with a variety of stone arch bridges around a pond with several small islands. The garden's ambience and floral blossoms vary with the...More

I ended up just having a quick look here as I had several other places to see on the same day and very limited time. The gardens are attractive but not really anything spectacular.

This place is very tranquil and includes a picturesque lake, several bridges and some nice buildings. Try to time your visit so that you are there when no tour buses arrive and better photo opportunities will arise.

Got lost in Naha and found this place by accident. It was a nice discovery. I love Feudal Japan History. I am not sure if the structures are that old but they are very nice to see. I love the construction and the romanticism they...More

These beautiful gardens were once part of the Shuri Castle complex but are now located less than a mile from the center of the castle. The site has been designated a World Heritage Site and it is easy to see why once you see them....More

It is a historical garden where the architectural style and materials of Japan, Ryukyu, and China have mixed exquisitely. Although it is a circuit style garden that there are no other features besides those, it is not a garden for the sightseeing, but a...More

This is a beautiful garden with a nice big pond and fantastically placed quaint little buildings placed all of the garden. Original people were the Sho family and they headed up the Ryūkyū Kingdom. I walked to this place from the Shuri Hilton Hotel and...More

This is a must see if you go to Naha. I'd recommend seeing it when you go to shurijo because it is nearby. It's a large garden and you can explore a traditional living area.
