In fact it is forbidden to swim due to the currents and the dangerous animals living in Kabira bay, such as stone fishes and jellyfishes. After the 30mins tour on the boat is completed, just... I think you can have a similar view and better experience by going to Taketomi Island (a ~15 min ferry away) where you can swim, snorkel, walk on a beach, and see star sand!

When visiting Ishigaki Kabira Bay is definitely a must see. The Kabira Ressort Rout Bus goes to Kabira Bay from Ishigaki Bus terminal 5x per day and takes about 45min. We went to Kabira Bay a couple of times since the color of the water changes throughout the day. Around noon the water more more turquoise and later darker blue.... More

Perfect tropical beach. Umicoza took us there to dive each day and it's stunning. Otherwise, rent a car and tour yourself.

My husband and I stopped here briefly while driving around Ishigaki and were not disappointed. The views are beautiful and absolutely picturesque.

There were lots of different glass bottom boat companies but no touting. Apart from another couple we were the only people on the boat -... More

A very picturesque setting where you can take glass bottom boat rides, but it is difficult to swim here due to all of the boats. Beautiful blue waters and white sandy beaches...what more do you need?

The beach was OK, sandy but not great for swimming. The GBB was great value - we saw a turtle swimming below us.
