My GF bullied our group to going to Suginoi Palace so that we could swim in the Aqua Garden onsen pool and I'm so glad she did. It was bananas. The laser light show is like nothing you have ever seen before. The way the light refracts off the water makes everything seem so magical. If you're looking to bring... More

The Aquatic Park is really great. It has a floating station which is a pool in which it is super easy to float on your back. There is 3 representations per night of an amazing laser/music show per. Finally, there is a dry spa where you can massage yourself with salt. It is not a really pleasant experience, but it... More

This is literally the best Onsen I have ever taken in my life! The view was magnificent. It had several huge outdoor pools where guests could enjoyed the scenery leisurely. They also offered sauna, also with view. If you have limited time in Beppu, then I honestly recommend Suginoi Palace. By the way, the entrance fee was 1,500 yen per... More

Sprawling 4.5 Star complex situated on a hill overlooking the city and sea The main outdoor bath is an infinity pool and allows you to recline with a Panoramic View of the city and ocean. The adjacent Pool area hosts both sexes with the same breath taking views.

If you can schedule your stay during the week it will be less busy, as this is a very large resort, it can be a bit overwhelming on weekends. Great views of Beppu bay and the surrounding areas. Many restaurants to choose from, but a little expensive. Most dine at the 800 plus seat buffet, with both Japanese and western... More

Suginoi Palace is an onsen hotel in Beppu. They run a free shuttle service from Beppu JR station to the hotel. Wanted to try the onsen experience but am a little uncomfortable with the nudity aspect of it, so went to Aqua Garden since they allow bathing suits. Aqua Garden is like a swimming pool that uses warm water. It... More

Tanayu onsen is large and modern with indoor and outdoor hot tubs, locker room, and showers (always rinse off first). It's clothing-free and gender separated (English signs mark the 2 sections). Aqua Garden is a very nice outdoor swimming pool area downstairs from the onsen. It's mixed gender and requires swimwear. The water is warm and quite nice even when... More

So much to do here. Can spend hours here. The hot pools on the rooftop are a must, especially at night with all the lights and music shows. So riveting. Such an elegant and perfect place. Again totally worth the price.

Huge, modern facility overlooking Beppu. Star attraction is of course the Tanoyu or Shelf Onsen that overlooks Beppu. There are also other facilities like shops and F&B outlet, and a water garden with scheduled shows that kids would enjoy. (Swimgear required in the water garden) To be honest, the view from Tanoyu isn't as stunning as what you might get... More

On weekdays the bus leaves every 15 minutes until 3 pm on the hour and so forth and then every half hour. On week ends, it leaves every 15 mins. You cannot miss the purple mini bus in the car park, from the West side exit. Each bus seats around 25 people. Journey time if no traffic, 7 minutes! Cab... More
