Short drive between the 7 hells (group of 5 and the other 2). Free parking and free to view. It is only a very small lookout. Spend about 5 mins here and move on.

Don't exactly have to go all the way. On the way down should be able to catch such view. I saw the city with steam coming off at a huge public carpark.

I visited this view point with a local who didn't know about it. On the tourist map you pick up its labeled as " Beppu Vista-Hot spring steam". It's best to see it as a pass by after you've visited the 8 Hells (onsen). It's only a 5 min drive from there. I really liked it, you can see all... More

The name is YUKEMURI. Not Yukemori. It means hot springs smoke. This observatory is best by car and definitely worth a quick stop. It was raining when I went but that doesn't stop the hot springs from steaming! Check it out!

While planning the trip to Beppu, I came across a travel blog (http://travelisveryfun.blogspot.sg/) which wrote about Yukemori Observatory, The blogger's pictures were beautiful and I felt it was worth the visit. It turned out approximately 45 minutes-1 hour's hike up for us because we got lost due to an oversimplified map that resulted us taking a detour into the residential... More

Here is a good place not many people know about. The viewpoint locates upper side of Kannawa Onsen town. From the Kannawa main buss station, it takes around 10 or 15 minutes walk, then you will see “uncountable” Onsen smokes. It is the very picture of Onsen town, amazing and great. If you are not sure of direction, you can... More
