It's a short 10 minutes drive from our hotel. However once up there, You can see all the hot steam coming out of the houses and also a great view of the mountain and city. Worth the drive up.

Unless this is on your way to other place, I would not go specifically to visit this observatory. It is a small platform in the midst of residential buildings which gives you a view of the city. I am sure similar views can be found...More

The place is a bit away from the city center but it is worth getting there. The view of the city is really nice. And you can really see where all the onsens are and that they really do have hot water.

Short drive between the 7 hells (group of 5 and the other 2). Free parking and free to view. It is only a very small lookout. Spend about 5 mins here and move on.

Don't exactly have to go all the way. On the way down should be able to catch such view. I saw the city with steam coming off at a huge public carpark.

The name is YUKEMURI. Not Yukemori. It means hot springs smoke. This observatory is best by car and definitely worth a quick stop. It was raining when I went but that doesn't stop the hot springs from steaming! Check it out!

While planning the trip to Beppu, I came across a travel blog (http://travelisveryfun.blogspot.sg/) which wrote about Yukemori Observatory, The blogger's pictures were beautiful and I felt it was worth the visit. It turned out approximately 45 minutes-1 hour's hike up for us because we got...More

Here is a good place not many people know about. The viewpoint locates upper side of Kannawa Onsen town. From the Kannawa main buss station, it takes around 10 or 15 minutes walk, then you will see “uncountable” Onsen smokes. It is the very picture...More
