We drove to this attraction on a rainy day. Visibility was not good for pictures, but you definitely got a sense of the magnitude of the 99 islands. After a short walk through the forest canopy, we came upon the observation deck and platform, but...More

This is a great location for taking stunning pictures. The road going up is single line which can get interesting when meeting cars. The walking paths are rocks and dirt and is not handicap accessible.

As mentioned in my other reivew for Tenkaiho, Sasebo is well known for Kujukushima, known as 99 islands. After visiting Tenkaiho, our guide book also listed Ishidake Observatory as a good view point of Kujukushima. I agree that this is also a great place to...More

Stunning view of the Kujukushima Islands. There is not much parking space, and the Sasebo Sightseeing Cruise Bus does not stop there, so plan accordingly. If you take the bus up to Kujukushima Pearl Resort, sit on the left side of the bus and you...More

Take the boat trip before you come to overlook the 99 islands. If you drive, prepare 3-4 hours to visit the kujukushima ( 99 islands). There are altogether 4 overlook stops of kujukushima. Visit 2 overlooks which serves different angles.

Marvelous views from this platform high above the Zoo. You can see both the entire city and harbor as well as amazing views of the Kujûkushima Islands. Highly to be recommended!
