Nagasaki Cultural and WW2 History Tour

Dream Tours Japan was born out of the idea of giving people the feeling of being connected with the destination in every facet of the tour. Whether it be from the on board commentary, insights into daily Japanese life, historical and important information of each attraction, cultural experiences, Japanese food and drink tastings as well as personal opinions and facts about what it is truly life to live as an expat in this weird and wonderful country we call Japan. It is my belief that only a Private Tour consisting of a small numbers of members can create this important connection that will stay with us for the rest of our lives!

If you present proof that you live in the city of Sasebo, you can get in for cheaper. Good penguin exhibit, where you walk under the glass-bottom pool and look up to see them swimming above you. If you are a rose lover, really nice roses in June, some of them labeled in English. Also, there's a great lookout point on the mountain above, and the turn for it is exactly beside the zoo parking lot.

This facility is okay for a visit with kids but if you are expecting something like the BioPark you will be disappointed. The penguin exhibit is however excellent and I thought well worth the price of admission. I spent several minutes at the nesting area which is well worth a look.

Let me start by saying I have been to zoos in over 30 countries and at least 30 states and this zoo was by far the worst. That's a tough thing to hear and to say but alas it's true. The enclosures were bare dirt, no grass or water or anything in them. The animals looked sad, dejected and defeated. I was shocked at the conditions and would wish the animals better for sure. Overall grade was zero on a 1 to 10 scale. Don't waste your time, effort or money.
