Several decades ago, this bridge was featured in a children's magazine I read at the time, complete with color photos. The brand new red bridge spanning the entrance to Omura Bay, along with the surrounding scenery, left a strong impression. I had always wanted to cross it, but time passed without the opportunity. On my last visit, it was raining so I gave up on walking across the bridge. This time, I was able to walk across only a small part of the long bridge. It was an amazing experience.

Saikai Park by this bridge has the earliest cherry blossoms, starting in early March. Come see the Sakura, and walk across the bridge. You actually have your own wide pedestrian bridge, underneath the car bridge. There are small glass sections in the walkway where you can look through to the swirling eddies in the water far below. I also understand there is a long slide in the kid's park area.

If you drive through this area, a must stop to take in the scenery and enjoy the breeze. The two bridges and the river and the surrounding landscape are beautiful. You can walk to the bridge.

Well this bridge is over water for sure and it is a regular bridge that does not stand out more than any other bridge I have encountered in Japan. I have crossed this bridge several hundred times. please don't go out of your way to see this Bridge there is nothing special about it

This bridge is just too cool. The views are amazing and I love being able to look down into the water from the windows in the floor of the pedestrian walkway. The area around the bridge is beautiful as well and the Saikai park is just across the road. Well worth a visit.
