We lucked into a very knowledgeable and helpful person at the TIC at the station.
We got excellent advice on bus transportation, for in the city and for our visit to the Nichinan Seacoast.
We bought our bus passes for the next day from the TIC and received clear information about how to use it. If we had pressed a bit harder with more questions, we might have learned that we could catch the bus right in front of our hotel rather than having to walk back to the station to the bus terminal there.
There were two women manning the desk, one seemed much more comfortable speaking English than the other, but they both had sufficient English to get the job done.

You can ask any kind of question. She will try her best to help. Once I ask for the bus no. To go to daiso she thoughtful enough to print the bus time to coming back to my hotel. Don't forget to buy one day one day visit bus card here, very worth it.

The taller lady seemed unwilling to give advice to non-Japanese speaking visitors. She directed me to walk 3 big blocks for main shopping area instead of telling me to catch a bus, and did not give me information or telephone numbers of those spots I would like to go by car.
On the contrary, the pleasant looking lady staff was very helpful in finding out the telephone numbers of different tourist spots for car GPS. This helped a lot while I was using the English speaking GPS.

Despite some incomplete information, the information desk provides comprehensive brochures and maps in some foreign languages as well. The information desk close a litte early, as far as I remember, at 6 pm.

I do not want to be picky, but there are not of maps and brochures in English. Having said that, the location in the railway station is ideal.

Located right in the centre of the Miyazaki JR station. It is rather small but big enough to do the job. The staff was always very helpful and spoke excellent English. They have a lot of supporting material like maps and other information about the different highlights in the area and beyond.

I bought the one day buss pass here, the male staff was helpful. I guess there are many Korean visitors, they have all kinds of booklet in Korean. He was very ready to provide, timetable, map and pass immediately. Good to visit.
