Even if you don't want to swim while you travel, take a relaxing beach walk. Driving along the beach road is also relaxing. Look for a seafood restaurant along the beach for brunch or lunch.

My son joined a trial surfing lesson in Aoshima Beach. While waiting for him we decided to stay around the beach. There were shops where you can buy food and souvenirs. The benches were full of people enjoying their time. We waited till we get a place where we could sit and stay a while to relax and enjoy the... More

I was here on a cruise from Vancouver to Shanghai and took a cruise sponsored tour where this was one of the attractions. there is about a 1/2 mile walk to get to the beach. Before you get there, there are shops that sell tourist items, food, and beer.

Whether you like windsurfing or sunbathing, swimming or doing nothing, this place is a great idea for you. Right next to Aoshima island and outside a few hotels, access to the beach is very easy. The beach faces east so it's also great for watching the sun rise. Very popular in the summer but too cold in the winter.

As the picture shows, there is a wide, sandy beach. There is a much larger town near by which has everything else you could want. Buy something to eat, take it with you to the beach, sit and listen to the waves.

The beach is very clean and its shallow waters is suitable for toddlers. The beach park has a few modern shops selling coffee, beer and food. It is quite easy to spend a whole day here visiting the aoshima island and the botanic gardens. Surprisingly it is not crowded and that adds to the charm of the place. Almost seems... More

Visited Aoshima Beach in November. Waves were wild, so there crowded with many surfers. Considering about my surfing level, which was a little bit too big and twisting waves. Surrounding there, lots of local food restaurants and accomodations are located. The connecting trains from the airport to here is a few per an hour, so I recommend to you check... More

If you like surfing, relaxing, or photography, the place to be is Aoshima beach. It has beautiful scenery, especially if you go when a typhoon is nearby. The waves are incredible if you want to go surfing. If you just want to chill go to the beach and layout on the gorgeous shell beach. The beach is covered in tiny... More

The beach was really nice and not crowded. Full of families. Good facilities (showers / changing rooms / lockers). Good restaurants nearby and lots of shops also. Nice botanical garden to visit also.

A 30 minute train ride from Miyazaki brings you to this small seaside resort. We visited in April which is clearly out of season and so there were few visitors. From the station it is a 10 minute walk to the causeway leading to the island ( the causeway does not seem to get covered even at high tide). The... More
