On the way to Aoshima, it is located. Small garden with full of green. Good to be there if you have little kids to run around.

A beautiful subtropical botanic garden in a pleasant seaside park is an important touristic attraction in Aoshima. It is really livery. You can spend as much time as you like. The access is free of charge.

Our target was Aoshima island. When we arrived, we saw that there was a botanical garden. Due to the lack of time, we just spent some time outside the garden and it was pretty enough. For those who are pressed for time, you can walk around the outside too and it offers a bit of tranquility too!

It's not a big garden but what I saw looked like it was well looked after, if you link this with a visit to Aoshima Shrine, Aoshima Island, Onino Senkatuita it's a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

A park by Aoshima sando with tall palm trees and couple of rows of flowers planted.
Admission fee to the greenhouse was waived in October 2013 as there was a campaign of ‘go green’ in cities of Japan. The green house was loaded with subtropical trees and plants in a messy way, felt like an abandoned backyard with unattended ferns. Yes, there was a papaya tree, with one single papaya. The few pieces of fossils display were more interesting than looking at the jungle plants.
I won’t recommend a visit if you need to pay to get in.

A short regional train ride from Miyazaki exiting the station with a short walk to the coast is this wonderful botanical garden. Meticulously maintained with nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Stumbled upon this garden after Aoshima Island. Surprisingly there are a lot of tropical plants in the green houses. Furthermore, its free entrance for all. Enjoyed their garden very much.

The garden is quite small, but very well cared for. There was some work going on when we were there so the cafe was closed. The flowers are beautiful. It is a two minute walk from the island and well worth the visit
